That depends. If you have a healthy lifestyle and have your baby during the time of your life when you are most fertile (age 20 to 25), it should quickly come off in about 6 months.
But, if you are like most american women, it will NEVER come off. A whole book could be written to describe the biology behind this but the implication fits in a few short sentences. Eat right, exercise, don't drink, smoke, do drugs etc. And have your babies before age 25.

I gain a lot of weight.... A LOT. I normally weigh 125 pounds, am 5' 8" tall and wear a size six... Not bad for a 35 year old.
I gained 45 pounds with my first and 60 pounds with my second.
I lost it all by nursing. I lost it all in 8 months with the first and a year with the second.
I lost the first 90% within six months.
Breastfeeding burns up to 700 calories a day.... better than a cardio.
Nursed the first one for 18 months.... still nursing the 14 month old.

It depends on many different factors. Lots of women that breastfeed lose the weight alot quicker. Working out and such will help to lose the punds. I on the other hand can't quit eating like I'm pregnant and still have all but 5lbs of the weight i put on. But I worked hard for that weight so i think I'm gonna keep it. LOL

that would depend on how active you are and how much you eat. For me it took about a year for the weight to come off. This was about the time that the baby became more active and independent so that I could actually have some time to myself and work out.

I have a 5 month old and it's finally comming off. Breastfeeding is a huge part of it. I think when your baby becomes more active it consumes more calories from your milk. also I can't recomend www.caloriecount.com enough to keep track of your calories consumed and burned. I started it 4 weeks ago, and it helped me shed 10 lbs already. Good luck, I know it can be extremely tough!

Depends on who you are, and how much you want it to come off. Diet and excercise are the best ways to speed up getting all that extra weight off, and sometimes it never comes off. Good luck!

My wife is within 5 lbs of her original weight in 9 weeks after the birth of our son. She does exercise every morning though.
