Sugar Ray Robinson: Fought during the golden era of the lighter weights. Fought everyone and usually beat everyone even if it took a second fight.

Jack Johnson: The first black heavyweight champ beat everyone and had to deal with being hated for his race. He had great speed and defnsive skills and power.

Muhammad Ali: Beat the unbeatable Sonny Liston. Didn't lose his title in the ring, had it taken away from him. Came back and beat the unbeatable George Foreman. Like Johnson, known for his speed and defense but had surprising power.

Marvin Hagler: Unheralded and unrecognized as he was never in the Olympics. As tough a fighter as I ever saw. Got screwed out of his title because Sugar Ray Leonard was more popular. If the fight was close after 11 rounds Hagler would take over and owned the late rounds.

Joe Louis: Held the Heavyweight title for nearly twelve years and fought everyone to do it. He beat the preceding champions (Schmeling, Sharkey, Carnera, Baer & Brddock) and the men who follwed him (Walcott and Charles).

Roberto Duran: The hardest hitting lightweight ever. Incredibly tough and intimidating. His "no mas" fight against Leonard was a shock because he was so tough, it scarred his career, but prior to that he was one of the all-time greats.

Carlos Monzon: Another great middleweight who held the title for a long time (8 years). He beat everyone and retired as champion. Greatly underrated.

Esubio Pedroza: Another forgotten man. He was bantamweight champion for about eight years. He was tough and nasty. Like Hagler, he owned rounds 12 through 15.

Larry Holmes: Maybe the greatest jab of all-time. He beat everyone until he got screwed out of his title in a decision against the more popular Michael Spinks. He was 48-0 prior to the Spinks fight. He is also notable for publicly stating that he fought for money and when he lost his title that's why he kept fighting.
