Sometimes my children's sippy cups smell funny. I know I am washing them above and beyond the call of duty so they won't get sick and rinse them well with hot water.I am wondering if it can get contaminated with the different fluids I put in it { milk, juice, water }

vinegar helps get the smell out, try it. Other than that, if you think it still smells funny, I would get a new one. My kids NEVER got sick from using the same cup or one that had juice in it and we forgot for a few days, and then I cleaned it, sometimes it smelled and I would use a small amount of vinegar and that would help.

as often as you like but try to keep the same tip in mind as it may be confusing to the baby as to what to do with each tip. they need to learn to grasp the concept of drinking alone and changing tips can be a different feeling orally. If youre consistant with the sipper part, than youare fine. They are small in the opening and get all kinds of left over films from various drinks that have been in them. q tips work well and soak them in baking soda water to deoderize it works

soak them in hot water and white vinegar. the whole thing disassembled. it is just like any other plastic container, they start holding the smell of the juice or what ever. buy new stoppers if they have them for the type of cup you have. I buy news about every year or so it they get yucky.

They should be thrown out when the lids dont fit properly.Plastic holds odors, try bleaching them about once a month.Make sure they are rinsed well after washing in bleach.
