rationalism has nothing to do with the existence of god. people whether they believe god or not may some times behave irrationally. for example an atheist who believes capitalism is the only way of social system that benefits the whole mankind and another atheist says communism is the only political ideology that saves the downtrodden from all miseries. even psychologists also argue irrationally and adhere to dogmatic principles .for example Freudians totally disagree with the thoughts of Alfred Adler and followers of Pavlov do not recognize Freud as a rational psychologist and they simply dismiss the theories of Freud were born in his mind and no scientific sanctity. at the cost of repetition, i reiterate that rationalists are rationalists and among them may be theists and atheists.

there are a lot of people who believe in a god they cannot see. But i have not met anyone who is offended by a god he doesn't think exists. Atheists are not even offended by people who believe in a god they cannot see, but when they try to impose their belief on others, that is when people get offended.

I'm not offended by a god that I don't believe to exist. I'm offended by the attitudes of some of that god's followers.

A man believing in a God he cannot see is more Rational. If you are offended by something you don't think is real, that makes no sense whatsoever. That's like me being afraid of ghosts even though I don't believe in them.

Let me ask you this. Have you ever seen 1 Million dollars in cash before? That not to say it does not exist. It is rational to question"God" because you are able to think. To believe in God you must have faith. Why be offended by a God you do not think exists.

The latter of the two. Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for, a belief in things unseen.. But it seems an oxymoron, to be offended by something as an unbeliever, that one feels doesn't exist.

Are you asking if it is more irrational to believe something, or to be offended by something you think is not there?

I don't know anybody who was ever offended by something they believe is non-existent.
So if you don't believe in leprechauns, would it follow that you're offended by them? Maybe you'd be offended by people who tell you you're damned for not believeing in leprechauns.
