According to the Bible you must be baptized through water and fire ...fire being the Holy Spirit...to enter the kingdom of heaven

No you will not go to hell if you are not baptized, there are two types of baptism- being baptized in the holy spirit and water baptized. Baptized in the holy spirit brings you closer to the Lord and gives you better understandings of things and you can see your anointing.(Spiritual Gifts eg. speaking in tongues) Being water baptized is a form of obedience. Yes you should get water baptized if that is the path you choose to follow. Being baptized is an outward action from an inward decision. You will only go to hell if you are not saved. You do not have the devils tail because of not being baptized, we are made in the image of God and we could never had the devils tail. And how dare your husband pass judgment on you, Christians are not supposed to be judge mental. Tell him to read this scripture Matthew Chapter 7 verses 1-2.

Heh, first of all, if my husband ever talked that way to me, I would be signing the divorce papers the next day. He needs to show a little respect and compassion. What he's doing is considered mental abuse.

Secondly, I'm not Christian, so I can't really tell you if you're going hell or not. However, some sects of Christianity really do believe that only the baptized will be getting into heaven, While another sect believes that being baptized is a waste of time.

This is one of the reasons I'm not Christian: if Christianity is the one and only way, then which SECT of Christianly is the one and only way? The Catholics think that anyone who's not Catholic, are going to hell. Every other sect of Christianity thinks that all Catholics are going to hell. The Baptists believe that, even if you're Christian, you have to get Baptized or you're going to hell. Lutherans, Mormons, Protestants, Jehovah Witnesses, etc, etc, ... all fight each other. If you don't believe in their sect of Christianity, you're going to hell. There is no winning at all in Christianity. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Being baptized is an outward expression of an inner event.
If you are not Born Again then you have a problem.
there are a lot of people that go into a baptismal Tank a dry sinner and come out a wet one.
Do you believe in God?
Have you accepted Jesus Christ?
Are you trying to live your life correctly?
Do you study your Bible?

Other than that if this is causing a stumbling block in your marriage by all means get Baptized.

Baptism will not allow you to go to Heaven. LIkewise, not being baptized will not keep you from being able to go to Heaven. Jesus said "I am the Way, and the Truth, And the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me." Baptism is just a public profession of one's faith. I'm not saying don't get baptized. I am a Christian and i was baptised. But baptism won't determine whether or not you go to Heaven or Hell. According to Jesus, if you have a relationship with Him, you will go to Heaven! :)

From a Baptist interpretation of what the Bible says-you do not have to be baptized. Baptism is a ceremony that expresses what has happened in a persons heart. People are saved (go to heaven) by the grace of God through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Baptism is just a public profession of that faith-nothing more. And you can quote me on that!

This is a serious answer: your husband is 1) just kidding, 2) a bigot or 3) not the kind of person you'd want to spend the rest of your life with.

Whatever anybody else says here, know only this: nobody but nobody truly knows what becomes of us when we die. Everybody is engaged in idle speculation. Live your life according to your own morals and if that's not good enough for God, then trust that you're going to a 'better place' whether that's above the ground, below the ground or just in the ground.

Do you believe that you are a sinner in need of a Redeemer? Do you believe that Jesus is the Redeemer?
If you do believe these things, what is keeping you from being baptized? Not that I think getting wet will get you into heaven or keep you out of it...it's all about what is in your heart. Is it in your heart to obey Jesus?
Devil's tail? LOL, well, I guess hubby would know...

First of all, you can still be baptized if you have strong beliefs in a Christian religion. Talk to your priest/pastor and arrange it.

I don't know what to say... I am baptized, but I did not have my daughter baptized. She is 9 now, so I think that it would be her decision to chose her own religion when she is old enough to do so. Sometimes I feel bad, though, because I really don't know if there is anything to it.

In order to be in heaven, you must be able to love God. Sure you can do that right now, but He wants a deeper love, a love that can only be recieved from Him. Thus, in baptism, God gives us "Sanctifying Grace." Sanctifying grace makes us able to see God as He truly is( for on earth we cannot truly know anyone, we only have ideas about them) and love Him as we see Him which is awesome. Also, beacause Adam sinned, he was thrown out paradise (which I believe might be heaven, because he saw God and conversed with Him). Because of this we are all marked with the sin of Adam(also what might be known as the sin of mankind). Baptism removes this sin which makes us worthy to recieve sanctifying grace.

I would highly suggest getting baptized if your ready to live a christian life. But don't do it before you've everything about the church you are entering (I would highly suggest the Catholic faith, the one that all the other faiths got baptism from).

Well, Acts 2:38 does say that we are to "repent and be BAPTIZED every one of you for the remission of your sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." I would say yes, you need to be baptized as a part of GOD'S salvation plan and accept and embrace a relationship with Him to be able to make it into Heaven.
