Matt. 19:16-18 "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me."
Is it grace alone?, Faith alone? Or following the commandments?
ANd if its follow the comandments how come most Christains don't even know what they are. And who follows at least 10 of them?

Great. So every1 decide to ignore what marketer Paul said according to Jesus and come up with thier own version of salvation.
How cute? SO let me guess since most of you have sins you just simply decide what is convinient for you? Simple is that. I hoped to get at least educated answer from some1 who read the bible. As i noticed most ppl here did not even botehre to read. They heard few things from local priest who is interested in twisting truth but that is it.
SO please before you read the bible your self don't bother to answer. That's what gives a bad name to Christianity.

Perhaps it's only an accident of where you're born. Only if you're born in the US, Australia, or the UK do you quote the New Testament and ask this kind of question. If you're born in China, you never even think about it. If you're born in Iran, you frame the question from the Koran. If you're born in Thailand, you wonder about Nirvana.
But, if getting 'saved' and 'going to heaven' are the only true concepts and everyone is else is on the fast train to hell, then the answer would be -- the thief on the cross. Saying that you believe Jesus is the Son of God gets you to heaven, and nothing else does. Romans 10:9, if you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and confess with your mouth that God raised him from the dead, you're saved.

HEAR the gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 15:6; Colossians 1:23).
BELIEVE the gospel. (Mark 1:15; Mark 16:15-16; Romans 10:9-10). Belief requires more than just a mental acknowledgement that God is, and that He sent His Son to die for your sins. It requires that you believe all that Jesus has taught and that you are willing to act on that belief in complete obedience to Him.
CONFESS with your mouth the Lord Jesus. (Romans 10:9-10; Mark 10:32; 1 John 4:15). This confession is a vocal confession that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and your Lord.
.REPENT of your sins. (Mark 1:15; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 17:30). Repentance requires a complete change of ways. In its truest sense, repentance means to turn from sin and head back toward God.
Be BAPTIZED for the remission of those sins. (Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16, 1 Peter 3:21). Baptism means to be completely immersed in water. It is a burial (read Romans 6:3-6). Sprinkling, pouring or dipping will not suffice because that is not what the Bible teaches.
When we do these things, the Lord will add us to His church (Acts 2:47). We must then LIVE FAITHFULLY unto death if we expect to gain a crown of life (Revelation 2:10).
Don’t take my word for it, study God’s word for yourself (Acts 17:11, 2 Timothy 2:15)!

First we must realize we are sinnners, Romans 3:23. Romans 6:23 tells us that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Then in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Jesus said I am the Way, The Truth and The Life, no man cometh to the Father but by me. Only one way there and that is to accept Jesus into your heart and repent of your sins.

The man had many good points, but apparently he had a big problem because of his wealth and position.
Jesus was pleased with what this man was to that point, but now Jesus told him something that would get him closer to God. And the man could not let those things go.
We must have faith in God and His word. We must repent of our sins and ask Jesus to forgive us and ask Him to change us so we do not do those sins again. When we read the Bible or listen to a preacher, we should ask God to show us things in our lives that He wants to change and to ask for His help in making those changes. This is where the rich man failed. (It is not a sin to have things unless they become a sin unto us.)

The only one that can save you is yourself, by living a spiritually principled existence down here.
There are many heavenly planes in existence in the Mid Realms of Spirit. For example, there are Hindu Cities of Light, Buddhist Cities of Light, Bahai Cities of Light, Pagan Cities of Light, and New Age Cities of Light, among others.
We have the opportunity to go to a heavenly plane (at least in the Mid Realms) if we strive to live by The Golden Rule and serve others.
That's it.
No lip service to a purported diety is required.
There are many Near Death Experiencers who did not see the Judeo-Christian god or any other god and still had a spiritual experience in The Light regardless.
The prophets Jesus, Moses, Sai Baba, and a host of others, hold no special authority in The Light. They never did, despite what many Group Entities would like those in the flesh to think.

I strongly believe the 5 steps to getting to heaven... there is proof in the bible too.
1. Hear~ Romans 10:17- "So then faith cometh by HEARING and HEARING by the word of God."
2. Believe~ John 8:24- "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye BELIEVE not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins."
3. Repent~ Luke 13:3- "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye REPENT ye shall all likewise perish."
4. Confess~ Romans 10:10- "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth CONFESSION is made unto salvation."
5. Be Baptized~ Acts 2:38- "Then Peter said unto them, Repent and, BE BAPTIZED every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
*these are just a few of the MANY verses in the Bible that prove these steps
*you also are to take communion every first day of the week

You need to believe in Jesus Christ, that he died on the cross to forgive our sins and rose again to be at the right hand of the Father(God). Through the gift of grace God will see you in Heaven. As for following the commandments, don't you follow the rules, in your home, workplace, city, etc.? The commandments are God's rules and he is our Father. Do good deeds and He will be proud of you and give you back more. Bless you and be saved.
p.s. Don't listen to Mortal, you do need Jesus. None can come to the Father except through Jesus

You forgot to mention Acts 2:37-39. "Men and brethren, what must we do to be saved? Then Peter said unto them; Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you and to your children and to those that afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." You walk by faith; you obey the Law, and accept God's salvation plan under grace. Thank God we don't have to die for our own sins nor sacrifice animals anymore!

There are many versions of how to get saved out there. But the real reason is in the Bible. You have to commit yourself whole-hearted to Jesus Christ. Do as Jesus would do. You have to become a new creature in this World. When someone looks at you they need to see the new person that you have become when you excepted Jesus Christ into your life.

Pray this prayer:
Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sin. Today, I turn from my sin. Jesus, I accept your sacrifice on the cross as payment for my sin. Come into my life as my Lord and Saviour. I want to follow you now. I pray this in Jesus' name, amen.
Read the Book of John in the Bible (the one after Luke). Find a Bible-believing church and attend regularly.
God Bless!
