Antibiotics are safe as long as they are taken the right way like with any other type of medication.

Yes they are safe if taken correctly unless you are allergic. They must also only be taken for bacteria, not viruses. Too many people want antibiotics for viruses and that causes more harm than good. That means taking them all and following the instructions on the prescription. The myth that they aren't safe is because some people stop taking them midway because they feel fine and that causes the bacteria to become resistant against the antibiotics which will make them even sicker than before. Sometimes people do report fatigue but that's just the body using energy to fight off infection.

Are antibiotics safe? To an extent. The problem with antibiotics is that they kill things that are biotic, or naturally occuring. This includes the bad stuff, and the good stuff with it. There is a lot of bacteria that lives in your digestive tract that you need to maintain normal digestion.
When you take antibiotics, you need to take probiotics to encourage your body to replace the things that are removed.
It's still best to not kill them in the first place, but I'm not one that is better than your doctor. Do what he tells you.
I was on antivbiotics for a few months because I had some serious illnesses. I had pneumonia followed by a staph infection while I was in a coma. The doctor had me eat yogurt, a probiotic, every day to help normalize my digestive system. I'm fine now, not that my bowel habits are any of your business.

antibiotics are generally safe when used to treat most infections and such. however, they can be misused by a lot of people. Some people give their antibiotics to others to use if one can not afford a perscription or a visit t the doctor.... do not do this. You do not know what the person is allergic to if anything. Yourbody can become immune to certain antibiotics if you take them often. They are safe to take if they are needed and only if they are needed. A doctor can tell you what to take for what. Many different antibiotics can be presribed for similar infections and others need only specific antibiotics. Please ask your pharmacist if what you are taking is primarily for that type of infection and what the side effects are

I think that they are safe but over used. A child coughs and they get an antibotic..then when they are five they have to switch kinds so that it will work effectively. Our bodies are so over clean we get sicker faster and more often.

Ya,I think they are safe. But their use should be restricted to the most superficial skin infections. Antibiotics are more often administered systemically. The tetracyclines have been used topically for the treatment of acne. Skin disorders caused by fungi can be treated with either antibiotics or antifungal drugs.

Are antibotics safe? Yes, if you take them for the whole term. No, if you take them too much.

I think the FDA considers them safe...but I personally don't think they are. They may help cure you of something but it wears on your immune system creating lots of other health problems. I once took antibiotics for a sinus infection that would never go away. I felt worse by being on them for so long that my body grew immune to the antibiotics. I think a better approach to most virus' or infections is to look into all natural therapies...works for me!
