They can, and they don't work. A dog could have an allergic reaction to it, and the chemicals in them are not good for kids. All veterinarians I advise against them.
Most pesticide chemicals in commercial flea repellents are fat-soluble and are stored in the fatty tissues of the body, primarily in the liver and in the nervous system. As these chemicals accumulate over time, they negatively affect nerves, hormones, and immunity. Symptoms to lookout for include anorexia, cancer, colic, convulsions, deformity of sexual organs, depression, diarrhea, foaming at the mouth, nausea, seizures, stiffness, vomiting and weakness, according to Anderson and Peiper.

YES! They can kill both dogs and cats. We nearly lost a cat to flea collar poisoning years ago when we didn't know any better - took a week of intensive care at the vet's to save her. I don't know why the companies that make them are allowed to sell them. Beyond that, as nearly everyone else here has said, they don't really work. Much better is the topical type of flea control that is applied to the back of the neck. And even better are the once a month pills that prevent heartworm as well as fleas. Yes, they're more expensive, but if you really care about your dog they're more than worth it.

No they are different. They use extra harsher chemical substances on dogs flea products that ought to actual reason your cat to seizure and die if not dealt with. no count number number what flea collars are ineffective anyhow. they in ordinary words save the fleas out of the final section not thoroughly off your puppy. you should get a topical flea administration reccomended by using your vet which contain benefit, frontline or revolution. those are very secure and extremely last an finished month. you may from time to time discover them on line for really inexpensive too. merely please do not use flea collars or some thing from the food market like hartz or zodiac and so on. cuz they are frequently VERY risky!!!

Depends on the dog. If you're dog is allergic or sensitive to certain chemicals, they can most definitly be harmful to that dog. Best bet for flea and pest control is to get a product like Frontline or Advantage from your vet. They're more expensive, but they last longer and are highly recommended by vets and animal breeders.

They can if the dog has an allergic reaction - which is quite common. But, basically they are worthless, so you are better off getting some good stuff, like advantage, or frontline from your vet. They may seem spendy, but at least they work and will not cause your animal any harm

I knew of a guy who wore flea collars around his ankles when he went into the woods to keep ticks and chiggers off of him. He died, but it had nothing to do with the poison from the flea collars. He laid down in the road to lick his butt and a truck ran over him.

the chemicals on them are toxic to your doggies. manufacturers put the toxins on a collar because it is a difficult area for your dog to lick. their is still absorption thru the skin. some people will tell you that dogs don't live long enough to be severely affected by cacinogenic flea collarsm but I guess the decision is up to you

no but they don't really work. if you want to get rid of fleas you should give your dog a flea bath with anti-flea shampoo. if it is a puppy ask vet or employee of a pet store.
hope this helps

i'm not that shure about flea collars. sometimes it can irritate their skin. but if u do get a flea collar, i would advise you to keep an eye or her (him) to see if he (she) develops a rash or other skin condition
