The US has something called NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense) which is located in a mountain in Colorado Springs. They can detect anything (missile, etc) that is launched any where in the world. We would then intercept it, the problem is we have military installations in South Korea and Japan that are more vulnerable to attacks. Check out NORAD's website:

The United States Air Force currently has something called the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense System (for the uninformed this is the overhyped National Missile Defense System as reprogrammed after 2003). There will be eventually some 100 interceptor missiles (currently its probably 20 or so since deployment began only last year) based in Alaska, and these are guided by the Ballistic Missile defense radars stationed throughout the Continental USA, Canada, Alaska and Greenland (not sure about the precise locations). The Navy also can do something as the Aegis Cruisers and Destroyers can use the AEGIS system with specially developed SM-3 missiles to shoot the missiles (unfortunately only a handful of such ships have been fitted). If the USA has enough warning time (unlikely) the Army could lend a hand with its THAAD anti-ballistic missiles (provided they are in the right place at the right time). Last resort would be the Patriot PAC-3s (assuming they are also there at the right time). If somehow someway the NoKors get past this shield (it isnt perfect, which is why many people criticize the damn thing)...there isnt much anyone can do other than hope you arent in the general vicinity of the Blast zone.

The bourgeoisie is doing what they have consistently accomplished - prepare public opinion decrease than the banner of media sensationalism. the difficulty the proprietors of yankee capital are having is that North Korea does not opt to be a puppet state of imperialism; they are drawn to being their very own sovereign u . s ., and accomplishing in spite of events they see in high quality condition to furthering this. The outrage over North Korea can furnish the united statesruling type with an excuse to perpetuate an infinite hands race. the united statessees that China is transforming into a competing imperialist power. In Iraq, there is in user-friendly terms one corporation owned by ability of American capital. something of the agencies in Iraq are the two chinese language or Malaysian agencies. Western imperialism is commencing as much as wain. With this, Africa is transforming into a clean purpose for military interventions.

A little thing called SDI - thank you very much Ronald Reagan. We can probably take out the half dozen or so that they could launch. And if not, how much do we really need San Francisco or LA? I mean losing the Giants and Dodgers isn't that big a deal!
After that, neutron bomb Pyongyang and march in to start feeding the survivors.

North Korea's missiles are not going to hit us. This is sabre-rattling, and Communist leaders have been doing it for generations. Nothing to be alarmed about.

They will not allow it to hit you. They will shoot it down from the air before it even gets close to US. It will more than likely end up in the sea and you will be safe. Although what will happen to sea life is debatable, but so long as you are safe...... Your government does protect you when they can.

Not a whole lot, most of the troops are fitting a useless war in Iraq. Man cannot stop a missle, maybe the government should just stop trying to run other countries.

Get real. The Taepodong-2 can't carry that much payload to cause real damage, and the US ABMs can destroy N Korean missiles even before they hit.
