its damn hard... we had to do that to my mothers house and crack a bunch of drywall in the process and the real problem was that the seal plate was rotted to so there wasnt much to hold onto...
but we braced across the floor joists and evenly raised (with trailer jacks) the end of the house until it was high enough to rework the foundation and replace the seal plate about a 2 day job with lots of help

i have some experience at raising homes, in my case it was to actually move the house, but in this case you only want to raise the house and you only have to lift it about six inches,so it would not be that hard. it really depends on the kind of house you have. some are easy and the majority are hard and you always run into unexpected problems. so without more info, not much else to add.

You can buy screwjacks at any home store. If you're looking at raising the whole home off the foundation, that is complicated and expensive.

if the foundation is messed up, think about a new house. otherwise its gonna be really really hard and/or expensive.

Are you trying to do it yourself? If so, I suggest you hire someone.
Are you wondering if your quote is bogus? Get several quotes.
Are you wondering what it will do to your house? I have no idea.
