I think everybody wants to be happy, but we don't necessarily know what will truly bring us happiness. We think that material possessions will somehow do it. They may bring temporary satisfaction, but not the true happiness that we are seeking.

People are people and we never get satisfied on what we get. It is a serious issue about that. We see things today that we saw in the store we want it. But when we look back we always say why we went and got it. It is just that phase on when we see it we have to get even though we don't need it.

people are very superficial because of the influence of the media and globalization. On the other hand is not always so bad to strive for better things. You have the right to want and achieve whatever you want. Just as you have the right to remain humble. It's all a matter of putting things in an equilibrating balance.

To be in with the fashion trend or become a part of majority craziness(like cellphones)and most of the time envious people trying hard to get like what they saw from their friends and neighbors(pride). They would like to posses same thing or much better(branded) or more expensive just to boast that they can afford!Or some other way ,it becomes hobby of being a shopping addict,it is their behaviour to hoard things from yard sale and malls but they don't need or use it!Or maybe they are not practical like us that we are just contended of what we have for dinner!God bless us!

who says they are not satisfied just because they want more?
it is human nature: when you get your hs diploma, you must be happy, but you want a college degree, then a phd etc. when you win your beginning swimming, you are happy, but you go on to advance, and your happy, then if you can, you go on to olympics etc. you got your first million, you go on for more, if yours till young. if you have the money, by all means, go shopping, even if you dont need it. the other extreme would be to live like cavemen again and be happy. who says cavemen were not happy?

Human nature. Jealousy.
I look at all the high school girls in my town. They all want fake boobs for graduation gifts. What ever happened to "Daddy, buy me a car!" Obviously, a vehicle is much more useful that fake breasts, so why would they want those when they are unnecessary?? Jealousy....they want to look like the rest of the skanks on TV and in magazines.
Shame too......fake boobs are gross....

We all have these desires to have fun and buy things to be happy. It is ok to have things that we want No one ever said that we can only have what we need.

Because they feel small and inadequate and by getting what they want to show off to other people, they think it makes them feel great or powerful.

want=specific form of a need. For example, you may need clothing, but want a black Versace minidress. My sis taught me that, she took Economics :)
