What's the best surf shop in the Los Angels area?

We've got tons of good surf shops in LA. Here are a few that I can vouch for -- they all have a knowledgeable staff that can hook you up with the right board for you.

ET Surf - Just off PCH Hermosa Beach, tons of boards at their main store and next door at their Longboard focused store, Just Longboards.

ZJ Boarding House - Ocean Park and Main in Santa Monica. Right near a good beginner break in SM.

Horizons West - Down Main street from ZJ in Santa Monica, by Bay St.

Katin - On the PCH in Surfside. Pick up a pair of classic trunks while you're there.

Then there's Huntington Beach, which has tons of surf shops by the pier.

These are just the few that I go to most frequently. There are plenty more -- you will have no problems finding all the surf gear you need.
