I don't follow his teachings directly so nothing would change.
There were books about the Jesus bloodline BEFORE the Da vinci code came out you know...
Try reading "Holy blood Holy Grail" This came out long before Da vinci code and uses facts to base it's claim on. This is not a fictional book, but it follows the same theory. So the theory is SOUND and not just a fictional work.

Of course not. I don't know why people are so up in arms about the movie. The book/movie states that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were MARRIED. The bible states that union between a man and a woman is holy. This would not mean that Jesus succumbed to any temptation, rather that he followed the laws of the time (he being a Jewish man) and chose a wife with whom to share his life. The fact is, it would make a lot more sense if he were married. There is plenty of evidence in the Bible to support this theory. This would do nothing to diminish his divinity. If they had a child, there would be nothing unusual about this.
However, there is no proof that they were married, and of course as we all know, the DaVinci Code is a fictional book/movie. If someone can allow a book of fiction to shake their faith in the Saviour, than their faith was not that strong to begin with.

Wouldn't know what the Da Vinci kid was like...never read the book.
I have a hard time supposing what could have been when it comes to Jesus, and I'd rather not. It would seem as though it could weaken the faith of anyone who believes in Jesus if they were to dwell on that negative stuff. I believe it takes the power out of who Jesus was, minimizes His ministry on earth, and normalizes the character of a person who wasn't typical.
I love the Jesus I know.

The Catholic idea of salvation depends upon the idea of the 'immaculate conception', meaning that Jesus was born without a human nature -- both Mary, his mother, and his Father were divine -- which means that it would be impossible for him to succumb to temptation, and therefore could never have had sex outside of marriage and produce a child. If DaVinci Code is true, then no hope of eternal life for mankind. The Protestant idea of salvation depends on the idea tha Jesus could have indeed succumbed to temptation -- God gave him his divine nature, but his mother was human -- but the fact that he suffered temptation and didn't fall to makes him a bridge between God and Man, which means if he did have sex outside marriage, he failed and wasnt' really a bridge and therefore I have no hope of salvation.
Yeah, I'd still say his teachings are great, but after we're both dead, we'd be talking about it in hell, not in heaven.

No, mine wouldn't either. He would still be the Son of God.
But it's a moot point anyway, because a) even the author of "DaVinci" admits his book is fiction, and b) there's no historical proof or evidence whatsoever that Jesus ever married or had children.

no, they would not. Jesus, as God's son is the human persona in the Holy Trinity. as such, it should not be unusual if He explored the physical aspects of HIs humanity. it doesnt diminish the fact that He was such a powerful and engaging personality of His time that he was able to radically affect the political and religious genre of that time in history. the doctrines that He has laid is followed by the biggest religion of all-Christianity.

I doesn't change his teaching at all! I think the reason why such a fuss has been made about the possibility of a bloodline from him, is because it makes him a ordinary man! So what?! We are all just human!

The teachings of Christ are ideals to strive for. I would not look at Christ any different. Most churches do teach that Christ was fully God and fully man. So my thoughts on that are if he is fully man why would him being married and having children be such heresy?

I would have much more faith in a Jesus that was in a loving relationship with admirable family values, than some sadistic guy preaching unnatural celibacy
