Did communism create more wealth for the people of Russia, Vietnam, Or Cuba? You imply you are for the betterment of the poor. What has given the 1st World the life style they enjoy is installing infrastructure in their country. Infrastructure enables wealth to be generated by circulating assets.

Paper or even gold has no value except what we agree it has. Things we want are created, because we agree to exchange this paper for what we want. The same paper exist, but now so does the shoes we bought. We can now walk farther on the road that was built.

The declaration guaranties the pursuit of happiness not the attainment. Society pays for what it considers of value. The Taxman attempt to take it back under the absurd assumption that the person should be so grateful that society felt his talents/energies created wealth for others they paid him for his efforts heavily. By extorting those funds (s)he never was allow to experience the joy of giving. While the entitled never got to experience the joy of appreciation, because they were taught they were entitled. When you are entitled there is never enough.
