I have seen answers for months now that claim that people couln't possibly be born gay because babies are innocent and have no "sexuality" at all... yet those same people insist that we are all born sinners... Does that make sense to anybody?

Yoda Green's and Angeltress: How long were you bi/homosexual before you chose the straight way?
Swordsman: You are a silly jerk. I have spent my entire life studying the Christian faith. 20 years of it as a Christian, the next two as critic, then 17 as an observer. I went to Bible college and have the credits to be a minister. I have entire books of the Bible memorized. You are the one who doesn't know what you're talking about.
whirlingmanc: bla, bla, bla... That is the most word ever used to say, "I don't have a clue."
John S: Is falling into being gay similar to falling into a puddle? When a person does everything the bible says, their pastor says, their parent say, and christian counselors say, prays for ten years to not be gay, but remains steadfastly gay, how is that rejection of God? Only a straight person who has never experienced the struggle could say such a stupid thing.
Julia: HugZ... Glad to see you, again. Did you have a vacation?

Obviously babies who were "born gay" aren't going to manifest any homosexual "symptoms" while they're babies, because being gay is about romantic attraction, which babies have no concept of. Many of the developmental chemical and hormonal complexities born with humans are dormant until the child begins advancing toward adulthood.
More importantly than why a person is gay is the fact that gay people have every right to pursue the lifestyle they choose, and it is not the business of any religion to try to enforce its bigoted dogma on anyone, period. You'll never get through to these people. The privilege of self-righteously condemning and condescending to others is one of organized religion's greatest attractions for people who love to hate "sin" in everyone but themselves.

its an oversimplification and overgeneralization
for example some minorities of conservative Christians like Tony Campolo might say people are born with a strong preference
however people using the from burth argument almost always refer to males, not females who usually its the result of being burned by a male or other sompex reasons in their lives and often were previously married... so its a complex issue
some of the problem is a person may developmentally through nuturing of family influence develop a preference at a very young age and appear to be from birth
some people have been 'burned' thorugh being abused as children and seek what seems to then a safer outlet
sometimes a person hasnt learned to related in a nonsexual way to memebers of their own sex yet which paves the way to related to member of the other sex
sometimes its an easy shortcut, two guys often dont have the long courtship of a guy and a girl, not to make overgeneralization and not always true
sometimes its born of co dependence not not birth
another problem is in fact some people have a tendency to alchoholism more than others and is genetic, and just because you have a tendency form birth doesnt mean you give into it whether it be addictions or anger.
Whether a person was burned or hurt or was a certain way as long as they remmember, Corinthians listed homosexuality and said "...and such some of you were but you were cleansed..." whether from early life or from birth there is open a possiblity of change and redemption and a new creation in a new birth.
It aint the only sin in the world and Jesus is in the business of changing people with all sorts of problems... and dont we all have loads of problems...

Hilarious! Babe, first lets get the right terms down. GAY means happy. Its Homosexual. We are born into sin. Its not bible thumping its true. People aren't born homosexuals, because if that weere so, DNA would be shown, in our genetic make-up. Sorry, it makes sense, and yes eventually choosing to be homosexual is a choice, like being heterosexual.
Just to let you know something, homosexual and heterosexual people, are both in the wrong when they fornicate mista. I'm addressing the person who said: "gay sex" is a sin. LOL, all sex outside of the marriage bond, you fornicate, you sin, thus you are no better than a homosexual having sex.

I like the thinking behind your question. Christians believe in original sin. That is, the sin of Adam and Eve. Yes, according to Christians we are still paying the price of Eve's mistake. I do not believe that homosexuality is a sin. I don't think that it was understood 2000 years ago. The bible also approves of slavery. We don't believe that anymore. That is a social issue. If one fundamentally takes the bible at face value. Women should not be ministers or teachers in the church. I think that society changes with time. And that those are all societal issues. I am sure that there are many who will disagree with me and that is fine. I walk in the integrity of my truth and am willing to accept the consequences of it.

Yes, we are born into sin. The differences concerning homosexuality and babies and etc. is that homosexuality is a sin of consciousness. It is a conscious decision to become homosexual, not something you're "born" with. You have the capacity to become homosexual because you were born to sin, but it doesn't mean you'll become one! There are all kinds of sin in the world as we're all aware, but since the sin-curse from birth is a matter of consciousness and accountability, it is not possible to be "born" gay because babies have no concept of their sexuality at that age.

To christians I am sure it makes some kind of sense. But to the rest of us normal people who haven't been brainwashed into being sub-serviant sheep in gods flock, it makes no sense.
I find it very hard to believe that anyone can be born "Gay or as a sinner" We can learn to be those things. We can have circumstances drive us into those things, we can choose freely to partake in those things, or be influenced by others, but in no way are we just born Gay or a Born sinner.
Don't believe what christians say. They only believe what they are told to believe by someone else, who only believes what he is told to believe by his superiors, all the way up to the top who claims to be told by God. But if god really wanted people to know a certain thing or behave a certain way. Why wouldn't God just broadcast to everyone in his flock. It's a lot easier than the hand me down message system that he uses today.

Yes, it does make sense. The Bible teaches in Romans ch 1 starting in v 18, that when man rejects God, eventually God lets them have their way. They are "given over to a reprobate mind". One of the outcomes is homosexuality, for both men and women. They are not born gay; they fall into it.

People are hypocrites, they have been since forever but I am a Christian who believes that people can be born gay or can acquire homosexuality, regardless they are still Gods children, we have no right to discriminate against them, and in the end all the hypocritical people don't have a heaven or a hell to put anyone in, so what they think really doesn't matter anyway.

My religion, Catholicism, carefully separates homosexual orientation (which is morally neutral) from homosexual actions (which are morally illicit).
Whether or not a person is born gay, or becomes gay through environmental/societal causes, is for the behavioral sciences to decide -- not religion.
But with homosexual ACTS, Christian religious teaching is clear -- they are sinful, and one big reason for that is because gay sex is simply bad for us. God prohibits it for our own protection.
A person may or may not be able to control BEING gay. But either way, a person can control his/her actions.
Again, it's not sinful to BE gay -- and it's not up to religion to decide whether this sexual orientation is "nature or nurture."
It's the ACT that is morally illicit, not to mention medically dangerous.

I was born a sinner, when i was 14 i repented of my sins and asked Christ for forgiveness of my sins, and He made me spiritually whole and in right relationship with Him.I was not a homosexual before i got saved, that should answer your question. The point is,people CHOOSE to sin after they have the knowledge that they are sinner's and have heard the Gospel.
