We need to enforce the laws that we already have and put career criminals behind bars for life. There should be no such thing as a "rap sheet as long as your arm." If you can't stop being a criminal, then why should society have to put up with you? If you refuse to be rehabilitated, and you won't stop committing crimes, then why should you have your freedom?

Criminals see jail as a part of their job. They expect to go to jail for short periods of time and just accept it. If they had to entertain the thought of spending the rest of their life behind bars if they didn't stop, I believe they would reconsider their lifestyle.

If that's not enough to stop them, then at least it will keep our communities safer because they won't be there.

I also think that jail should be a much uglier place - no TV, no play time - just hard work six days a week. Criminals should fear returning to jail as much as we fear them on a dark street.

What is defined as crime changes over time... legal today...illegal next year... so, we keep moving the goal posts. No computers, no computer crime. We are very bright little naked apes and as we do new and interesting things, create new and interesting stuff, we also create new opportunities for crime.
Might as well try to order the river to stop running.

We never will. Crime is a by product of the Society in which we live; and you really would not want to live in a society without any. Crime pays.

first, it'll be better if we have a mindset that everybody origin as a good people.. just imagine as they were still babies..
then in the process of growth.. they might be lacking something.. such as family's love, care and attention.. or sometimes physically and emotionally abused by their parents.. so that's one point..
then, in the more process of life.. they might face economical problems which also a big issue now.. poverty.. so think positive, if everyone get what their needs (not greed) things will go fine..
well of course there'll be still crime but the number i think will be small..

well in simple word.. if one have a good relationship with oneself, then things will be good...
