Honestly, I don't think it matters what you wear to church. But some churches look down on jeans. I am not sure why that is. But personally, it doesn't matter.

some churches r strict that's where religon comes in. I've actually been looked down upon cause I don't wear dresses (I just don't like the way I look in them) and I have short hair. My answer was I found a church I was accepted for being me.
my hubby is a jean and tshirt man u don't see him in a a suit if he had to wear one to go to church he wouldn't go.
The church should be about soul winning showing Gods love not judging how someone looks.
if we ever get to a place where we see peeps like God sees them from the inside out not the outside in the world would be a much better place.

Going to Church back in the day was when everyone put on their Sunday best and head into Town. In rural America, it was the only time of the week that you saw the rest of the town folk. Everyone looked thier best just as you would for a night on the town. It wasn't Chuch so much as meeting everyone that you have to look good for. The association stuck though and now almost everyone still dresses up for Church. Some may consider it disrespectful as a result of the association

That would all depend on the church you go to. That outfit would be appropriate at my church, but not at some of my friend's churches.
I guess it has to do with different ideas.
Churches that accept that outfit think with the mindset that the people are here to worship God, there clothes do not matter that much, as long as they are here with a true heart.
Churches that would find that outfit unacceptable probably think with the mindset that if the people are really here to worship God they will then respect him and try to look their best and dress up. Just like you would at a wedding, out of respect for the bride and groom you would dress up.
God Bless

I really don't think God cares. The question is: disrespectful to whom? I don't think it disrespects God, but it may be viewed as disrespectful by some PEOPLE in the church. I think the "attire reflects attitude" comment is valid. Also I heard it said in a similar discussion that "giving our best to God" includes how we dress when we come to church. That being said, attire should never be an issue that detracts from your relationship with God nor should it be an issue that keeps you from going to church.

I don't think God cares about your clothes. But the people in church are at all different places. It is kinder(more Christlike) to respect the way that they feel about the house of the Lord and dress similarly to the other participants at your place of Worship. If you haven't got anything else then I can respect that. But I would wear my best t-shirt and jeans and wear my hair very neat and tidy to show I am trying to be respectful

Disrespectful? I would be judging to comment on way or another. The times have changed that is for sure - most don't seem to dress up to go to Church anymore. To go to Church in the first place is showing respect.

I think it has to do with wearing the appropriate attire for the occasion. You shouldn't go to a funeral wearing a rhinestone blazer and you shouldn't go to church wearing jeans and a t shirt. Course I don't think that God would condemn you for it. However whether or not their Christians or atheists people will judge. It's not really something people do on purpose it's just in our nature to form opinions.

We shouldn't judge others on what they wear to church. Of course I wouldn't go to church in a bikini. I usually dress up or go nice casual. Just the way I was brought up. In essence, I don't think it matters. God said "come as you are," but some people take that waaaaaaaaaaaaay too far.

In my humble opinion, I would say that if you wouldn't wear jeans and a sleeveless T-shirt on a first date or a job interview, you shouldn't wear them to church either.
This doesn't mean that you have to get all dressed up ... but, as the priest at our parish said recently in regard to the hot weather here, "Dress like you're coming to church in the summer."
He emphasized the word "church," not the word "summer."
