I have some collector's plates that I would like to sell and was wondering what would be the best avenue to try and sell them? E-Bay, Yahoo Auctions, etc. Any ideas?

What I do is go to the site, like ebay, and do a search for the same item I'm wanting to sell.

By checking each site, you can find out which one is attracting the most attention on the item you wish to sell.

Also, the market changes; for example, barbie dolls are way down, but are starting to come back on ebay. I sometimes wait six months before selling an item because of this.

Good luck!

eBay has become a buyers' market and you can't get as much from an auction there as you used to. It's almost more for wholesalers and rarities now. Try searching the internet for the type of plates you have. You may find a dedicated collector site where you can get good money.

I think the companies like Bradford Exchange who make them have magazines out for those wishing to finish a collection with people like you advertising what you want to sell.
