well that's what Gods all about and it has to start with Christians I pray daily that I'll see peeps the way that God does. God never looks at the outside of the person he looks at the heart and we need to do that too.
I read just like Jesus by Max lacudo and it changed my thinking on alot of things. Jesus was tempted yet never sinned. He was laughed at scorned but never reacted.
we have to be more like Jesus and show HIS love, HIS compassion, HIS mercy the world is watching us all the time and who knows we may be the only Jesus some see.

Because those qualities are qualities that make the world a better place to live. Ever seen how a soft answer can calm an angry person. How doing something nice for someone who was upset can change their opinion of the person who they are angry with?
For instance, my church youth group just came back from the 9th ward of New Orleans, The devastation they showed in the photos was unbelievable. Cars still toppled on one another in people's yards. Trash still there because they can't get it hauled away. The kids went door to door offering to clean up houses and that compassion helped so many people down there.
If we were all to do this one step at a time, it truly would change the world.
Even if we only do one nice thing a week, it can make a huge difference in compassion.

This world can not be changed, it is written that things are going to get worst.
Love, mercy, forgiveness and compassion that comes from the heart of God will change individuals, and will give them the peace that only God can give to live a better life even in this world.

One person at a time. As a whole the world won't be changed, but by applying those qualities in our own life, we are changed and when we teach others to apply those qualities in their lives they have the opportunity to make the same changes. That is the reason I like to teach people about the Bible because it has that very affect on people.

It is through MERCY that we forgive those that have hurt us.
It is through compassion that we listen to others, with differing views, and come to a common ground.

Those are all nice ideals...you need to have respect and understanding first than the others can come forth to change the world.

All those attributes you mention in your question are just some of God's attributes.
If every Christian living today embraced them and lived them out, then it would impact the world in which we live.
