They silently assemble in the kitchen and begin to mill about in a kind of figure-eight path. Looking down on them, they look just like a video I saw on National Gographic about sharks preparing for a feeding frenzy. Only with whiskers, not fins.

Does anyone else's cats do this?

I'm a cat...my human is the one with the strange hunger behaviors. When she's hungry she opens the refrigerator door and stares inside. Sometimes she finds something, but usually, she closes that door and goes over to the pantry and stares inside those cabinets for a while. Inevitably, she ends up talking into this bizarre ringing contraption she has and a little while later another bizarre ringing occurs and she emerges from the front door with some food. All I know is it's strange! Personally, I'm only mildly interested until she offers me one of those tasty meat slices from inside the large box that's too flat for me to play inside. Personally, I think she she be on National Geographic for strange hunger behaviors. What do you think? MEOW!

lol that is too funny. I have 3 cats and when i open the cupboard or fridge around 6 pm when it is time for their dinner they all come running and 2 of the 3 usually sit after winding around my legs a bit first but the 3rd still doesn't have the sitting thing down. lol. but yes its most cats that do that pacing thing when it is dinner time.

Hehe that's kinda funny, they are like sharks sometimes. I remember my dad calling the cats sharks at the dinner table because they would always circle the table waiting for someone to drop food :)

LOL yes, maybe not in a figure 8, but all four will surround me and walk in circles meowing. This happens first thing in the morning and I call them the "Kitty Choir" ;)
