Absolutely go if that's what you're interested in! I've been to several witches meetups and pagan meet ups in my area and they are a good chance to meet others with a like mind.
Around here, we also have PNO's (Pagan night out) where folks can get together and we have multiple local yahoo groups---and one has over 300 members. Taking the first step to get out and meet new people is always the hardest. Good luck and I wish you the best!
If you decide to go, feel free to e-mail me and tell me what you thought of it.

Step 1: Go
Step 2: Relax, have fun and be yourself
Step 3: If it's right for you... You'll figure it out.
I've been on the Pagan path for a bunch-o-years. If the path is right for you, you'll figure it out. Just stay true to yourself and trust your own intuition. Also remember there are a ton of different Pagan groups out there so if this one does not fit keep looking and try another.
Oh yea... Don't let anyone bully you or try to impress you with a title like High Priest or High Priestess or Grand Poobaa. You have the same amount of connection to the divine as they do. Sure they may be able to teach you some things but make sure what they have is what you want. Most folks who are worth studying under are genuinely humble.
Hope this helps and enjoy the trip.
Oh yea... There is no Wiccian Bible... There is a book called the Witches Bible but it is just a book. Like any other book it has stuff you should take and stuff you should leave. Let your heart and head decide which is which.

Well met my sister! When I began walking the Wicca path, I did a lot of reading and searching of self to decide whether I wanted to be a part of a coven or whether to be solitary. A Witches meetup is usually just other Wiccans and Pagans getting together for conversation, sharing and enjoyment of being together. I decided to remain solitary for now and I know this may not have anything to do with your question, but my advice is to do what you feel is right for yourself. Take a friend along if you need to. Be open and honest and enjoy the good energy of the group. If you have a strong belief and good positive energy, then you shouldn't worry about being new to the path. Don't ever doubt yourself, stay strong and keep learning and growning as you follow the Wicca path. Brightest blessings. If you need to talk to another who is relatively new, feel free to contact me through messenger or email. May the Goddess guide you my sister!

It is as individualised as any other religion, you will get out of it just as much as you put into it. If you are truely interested and have the advantage to experience a real meet then you will be pleasantly surprised. If you are expecting tv type happenings you may be disappointed. It will be determined by those that are holding the meet-up to begin with. I have found that you must be very careful, sadly enough there are still bad folks trying on new and improved ways of decieving people that are inexperienced, but there are also very good people too. DETERMINING who is who is a whole art in itself.

OK... lemme get back to you on that.
Meet-up with whom? How did you meet? I personally dislike Internet covens but that's me. If you know this to be a good solid Wiccan coven just go... but if you did know that...you would not ask us now would you?
Going to a 'meet-up' where you know nobody may not be the best start for this. Getting to know someone who will also attend may give you some idea what to expect.
Maybe you have some time to do this before the meet-up? Else I would say go to the next one. Knowledge and preparation is everything.....Just go is not the Wiccan way.

If you have doubt as to weather you should go or not, my guess is that the Holy Spirit is wrestling with your conscious and telling you that you are beginning to follow a path that is against his will. Wicca and Witchcraft show themselves to be peaceful and natural and all things good and harmoneous and that is part of the deception that Satan uses to draw people away from God.
The main reason that God tells us not to practice witchcraft is that when one prays.. they are not praying to him or seeking his will, but seeking to enforce their own.
I know this because I came close to going down that road myself and I understand the draw. I understand the knowledge that you have a natural ability in you to be sensitive to the "other side" of exhistance, but if you are truly confused... read the scriptures and see what God has to say about the matter. Pray about it.. I think you'll find your answers.
Deuteronomy 18:10
Let no one be found among you...who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft,
Galatians 5
19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Leviticus 19
26 " 'Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it.
" 'Do not practice divination or sorcery.
31 " 'Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.

Wicca is a highly dedicated craft and worship. Know why you like it and how it exspresses you before you hear things from other people. In any case being objective and thoughful about any spiritual path must lead to a greater understanding of yourself.
odds are you will find more then the craft to fill your understanding of spirituality. but it isnt a bad start. continue to seek information... in book form.. before you seek community.
its only about 50 or so years old so you should find alot of great information at even the more chain bookstores.

First off,I hope you mean Wiccan, and not witch! A Wiccan draws power from the energy of the earth;a witch has had sex with a demon to gain powers. Get a Wiccan Bible and study it well. Get a mentor to help you out when you go to this meeting.Keep your mouth shut and your ears open while there.

Yes. Go and watch and learn. But do NOT be surprised if there are people there who are less than helpful. Just as in any organization you have decent members and those that are basically stumps.
It's one of the reasons my wife is a solo-practitioner, too many stumps.
But good luck to you!

If you're interested in learning more about it, then jsut go with your positive energy and beliefs. Be open to the experience, but be wary of thinking that ther's only one way to be Wiccan (or whatever this group is).
