3oz softened butter gradually add icing sugar and mix till it is a smooth consistency. You can add a few drops of water to help it mix. Then spread and serve

Butter Icing

4 tablespoons butter
2 cups sifted confectioner's sugar
1-2 tablespoons milk

Place butter in bowl and cream until very soft. Slowly add confectionser's sugar, mixing thoroughly. Add milk a drop at a time as mixtue gets too stiff.

For Buttercreme Frosting you need.......
2 pound bag powdered sugar
1 and 1/3 cup shortening
1 teaspoon clear vanilla
1 teaspoon butter flavor
water
Mix everything together ( in a Kitchen-Aid mixer is the easiest- doing it by hand is a little harder and messier) add the water a little at a time to make the mixing easier DON'T ADD TO MUCH WATER!!!! I like to add a little extra butter flavor because I like the taste of it. You can get clear vanilla and butter flavor at Wal-Mart in the cake section by/in the craft department

3 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir milk slowly into flour in small sauce pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. In a mixer bowl place butter and sugar. Beat until well - mixed and fluffy. Add cooled flour and milk mixture and vanilla; continue beating until fluffy but do not overbeat. This icing is creamy but not too sweet.
