I taught English as a 2d Language for a 365 days in Poland and a variety of of the Poles I met appeared to be ashamed of their heritage. I loved it there. i tried to describe that in u.s. we do not have heritage like they did (there turned right into a cathedral on the city that changed into 800 years previous, really a lot 500 years older than my u . s . a .), yet they did not understand.

hispanic is the mixture of Spaniards and indigenous tribes sometimes african blood as well. They didnt make up the term, I think the US government did. I am pretty sure they are not ashamed. They have no reason to be.

idiot........1diot................ hispanic stands for the south american countries.. u are such a fascist i wonder why they didnt bury u with hitler. the reason they usually do not elaborate is because people like u with small brains have generalized them into illegal aliens.. the fact is all americans are immigrants except for native indians... think before u ask ok!!!!!!

I beleive it is more because they are tired of people saying they are cuban when they are from guatemala or honduras, so it is easier to say they are Hispanic since it is more indicative of what ethnicity they are and requires less explanation. That just my observation

There is alot of prejudice in those countries from each other, and it makes perfect sense that they would be conditioned to hide their origin in foreign lands!
