Technically they are nothing but animals so perhaps they do not "want" nuclear war because they wouldnt see any "need" for it (they do not think beyond mere surviving). Of course it wouldnt hurt them if we or someone were to kill the humans outright with non-stop nuclear bombardment.

I don't really care what the roaches want, but they wil survive it. According to "The Most Extreme" on animal planet, the episode on survivors, it was stated that cockroaches can absorb massive amounts of radiation with no ill effects.
