My 13 week old lab puppy has little bumps on the hairless part of his lower abdomen. The skin is a little darker than usual. Some of them look like tiny scabs. They are dry. He also has some under his "armpit". He is not itchy. No hair loss. Do you think it's a disease or an allergic reaction? He's perfectly healthy otherwise.

He doesn't have fleas. He's on frontline. It could be poison ivy though. I had a reaction from poison ivy last week.

Many puppies get that rash on their tummies. It is likely a canine staph...not contageous to humans.
Puppies are sensitive to many subastances, such as grass, carpet cleaner, Frebreze, Swifter wet, etc , on their bellies.
The mild allergy causes a rash, and if it turns crusty or scabby, a staph infection has jumped in.
Try this for 3 days, and if you don't see improvement by Monday, get him in the see the vet.
When pup comes in after morning potty trip, wipe areas with wet cloth, dry, and apply a mixture of Vaseline, and douche powders. Just mix a small amount of each until it makes a salve...Apply very thinly.

The owner of the dog needs to know how to "operate" the dog, same way you can get into a car that's in perfect running order but if you don't know how to drive you won't have much luck making the car go anywhere. If the owner doesn't know how to maintain the training, the dog will soon become untrained again. Read more here https://tinyurl.im/yI11z
People seem to think that once a dog is trained, that's it. Not true. You must reinforce the dog's training every single day in some way. It's best if the owner and the dog go together to get trained. As a professional trainer once said to me "We can train any dog in 2 days. It takes longer to train the owners

I have raised dogs/puppies for a long time, and often times some pups get a grass allergy. Depending on how bad it is I often use a Triple Antibiotic ointment on them. I have also had great results with Sulfodene Lotion and you can get that even at Walmart. Regardless of results I would keep your appointment with Vet to be sure of what it is and that you are not just treating symptoms and not the real issue.

Flea collars will not keep the pup flea free. They will keep the head/neck area flea free but the fleas will just go further down on the body. I would take the flea collar off and instead put the pup on a monthly flea preventative. Many dogs are allergic to flea collars and they do come up in nasty rashes and scabby sores. Call the vet to ask what you can put on the pup's stomach to stop the itching.

They sound like little bites, but you said that he isn't itchy. And you're sure he's not scratching at them? Maybe a quick trip to the vet would be a good idea. Have you looked online a bit? Hope it's nothing major. Good luck.

Well, if it's a black or darker looking rash, it's flea dirt. This is a sure sign your dog has fleas.
It could also be poison ivy or sumac if the dog is exposed to it.
Either way, if he's frantically itching, take him/her to the Vet.
Sounds like an allergic reaction to something. Fleas provide allergic reactions.
