A person can live for a while if the only problem they have is kidney failure. It can take a week or two for the toxins and wastes to build up enough to kill you and the process is not pleasant.

depends on what other organs are failing. usually 5-10 days if its primarily the kidneys, however you said life support so if they needed ventilator assistance, then probably no where near that long. my mother took 7 days, but she was in a coma the last 5. which usually is the case due to the build up of toxins in the body, from the kidneys not filtering the blood.

not long the toxins build up in the body and the fluid causing other problems. I took care of some one in this situation and she lived 10 days
but she wasnt on life support she was in dialysis and didnt want to do it any more. If they are on life support for that problem not long at all.

If you are talking about taking a pt off dialysis, it can take awhile. Depends on if they have 1 remanent of kidney finction left.
A couple years ago, I had a pt who was the mother of 2 small children and she stopped dialysis and died with a week. It broke my heart, but it was her decision.

well people on dialysis typically dont last more than two years... so i think it will take a couple days to a week before the toxins take over the body and kill them

i wouldn't give it more than a week.
