I'm getting married next year and my fiance and I would love to get married on the beach in Florida. We would appreciate some suggestions for locations.

I gave this answer to a similiar question:

I love a beach by my old house:

Siesta Key Beach on Siesta Key, off of Sarasota, FL.

It's a beautfiul white sand beach, which is rare in Florida. It is also ranked the "The best sand beach in America" by the Travel Channel. Lido Key is also nice (and close to Siesta). Here are some photos:

Also, if you get married on the East coast, you get the sunrise on the beach. On the West, you get the sunset, which is where Siesta and Lido are.

Hope that it helps!

Siesta Key! You'll think you left Florida and entered the Bahamas! It has baby powder white pure sand, calypso music playing from the cabbana and crystal clear blue water. It is located in the city of Sarasota. Travel Channel picked it as Florida's #2 Beach next to Southbeach in Miami.
For you and your bride, check out www.breezybeachwear.com for gifts for each other, or party favors. Click on "apparel" and you'll be re-directed to BBW's gallery at zazzle. Find the Island Bride and Island Groom shirts-- those would be great to wear after the wedding!
Congratulations!

I would say the west coast, Sanibel Island or St. Petersburg, they have nice beaches. I live in Stuart, FL and we just got married 4 weeks ago at a park overlooking the water and it had a tiny beach. I think the beaches on the west coast are nicer. Daytona is not nice, too crowded. New Smyrna is nice, it's near Daytona, but I think it gets crowded, too. Search the internet and you should find pics of different beaches.

Corny as this may sound.. Try Walt Disney World, they have a Wedding pavilion At the Grand Floridian Hotel, there on their private beach.. Very classy.. Of course you could always try Sanibel Island or even Daytona.

I've been all over FL and I think the most beautiful is Clearwater Beach... the sand is white and soft and the water is very clear (hence the name) and is a gorgeous green-blue color.
