Hey Ava.
I'm not a doctor, but I'd stay away from antacids like tums, rolaids and other OTC antacids - I think they can actually make the problem worse.
Digestive enzyme supplements worked GREAT for me. You take one or two right before you eat and it helps your body break down the food - it sounds like you are not digesting properly. I know I wasn't.
Check out www.wellzymes.com and select the "Digestive Health" product - it works really well (I put a direct link below + another link to a study that explains a little more about digestive enzyme supplements). These are totally natural products and are 100% vegetarian (some enzyme supplements are made from the organs of slaughterhouse animals - yuk!).
Anyway, that's my two cents. Hope this helps!
A.

It could be heartburn or acid reflux (GERD)Does it happen only when you eat certain foods, (caffeine, spicy, choclate) If it happens everytime you eat I would get it checked by a Gastroenterologis. Until then, try tums or rolaids to control the acid. Good luck

either that or acid reflux, you should get it taken care of,i've had a sore throat for 2 years and i suspect it's from acid reflux.i went to one of those kinetic chiropractors or whatever they call it where they put one hand on a bone and pull down on your arm,if they can pull your arm down then it's a bad spot, they call it fight or flight, anyway he pushed the flap down right above my stomach and it helped for a while, heartburn is usually a hernia above the stomach where your reed valve won't close properly

It depends on when you get it. and what you have eaten... Milk products give me heartburn...accually anything give me heartburn. Tums and rolaids help but only for a little while, Take pepcid ac it will help the whole day, but it does take longer to work...

Yes. That's what it sounds like. Of course, if it last for a few days, then it is something else.
