Dear all, two days ago I went to the eye doctor to have a check up because I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my left eye. It was not from irritation and nothing got into my eye either and it does not seem to be an infection since it wasnt even red. It was a kind of spasmotic pain which seemed to come from the back of the eye. When I moved my eye around, like up and down I felt like a muscle from behind the eye was hurting. The doctor looked at the front part of my eyes and then dilatated my pupils and looked at the back of them. He said everything was normal and it was probably a strain from reading too much (im in exams period at univ). Today is better but the pain is still there. Do u think the doctor also measured my EYE PRESSURE? or maybe he missed it and it is what I have and thats why my eye still hurts? have u had eye pressure? what are the symptoms? please help!

The symptoms are not synonymous with having elevated intraocular pressure so I do not believe that is your problem. It sounds like you probably did strain your eye. Try taking a NSAID such as ibuprofen for pain relief if the pain is bothering you.

REading of intraocular pressure is a routine part of an eye exam. Did someone touch your eyes with a small wand? It sounds muscular.
