Yeppers. Always have to read those labels. And learn all the words they use for sugar also. Fructose for example. But Gatorade has the following:
Ingredients: water, sucrose syrup, glucose-fructose syrup, citric acid, natural flavors , salt, sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate, red #40, ester gum, sunflower oil ...
So the sucrose syrup is, the fructose syrup is also....... all the ose words basically.

Gatorade was originally designed for the Florida Gators football team to help the get an extra boost of energy and electrolytes. Because of the team that it originated from and it aided the team the name was formed as Gator and Aide (hence the name Gatorade). It has always been used as a form of quick energy that you could burn off really easily if you were doing intense workouts. So, yes if you aren't doing an intense workout or didn't just finish with one then just drink water if you are trying to get hydrated. Even after you finish your after workout gatorade wash that down with about twice as much water as you drank of Gatorade. I'm a massage therapist and I tell all my clients to drink water after a massage because unlike Gatorade, water actually helps remove waste from your body.

yup it is a drink which has basically refined sugars like Sucrose and dextrose which is a form of glucose rapidly absorbed by the body...rest is mineral salts which has sodium and potassium & other minerals...
each 100 ml has 6gm of sugars and around 25 Kcal ...
so if anyone take it too much he/she will definately get fat...
it is best to reduce the amount of gatorade you take, and take it only when youe body needs it that is when you are working out, sweating a lot and feel really tired and dehydrated. but remember if you take it while workingout you will not loose weight as you won't be burning fat only gatorade.

Water keeps you hydrated too. NO calories.
Gatordade is good if you have been doing an extended high intensity cardio workout. Like running 6 miles.
As a rule I don't drink it unless I work out for at least an hour.

You should only drink it when you need it. Like, when you're working out and you feel tired. Or, if it is too sugary switch back to water! Good Luck!

Gatorade has about 14g of Carbs... not high... but you SHOULD be active if you're drinking energy drinks. Gotta burn those carbs rather than storing them...

Read the contents label...be aware of what you're drinking. If you're 'working out' then the amount of sugar it has probably won't add any weight.

It's got just slightly less calories than soda. It's not a diet drink.

sugar and salt. the sugar gives you the energy and the salt allows your body to take it in faster that's why they claim it is absorbed faster then water
