There are many opinions as to which was the oldest religion. The oldest continually practiced relgion on earth at the moment is Hinduism, which has a history dating back at least 8000 years. It originated in India.

Every religion today most likely has some aspect of an ancient belief in its philosophy or practice, but to say that one particular religion is the oldest is naive.
The reality is-- we do not know. We have no basis for comparison. Most reference books list Hinduism as the oldest world religion.
This is probably because Hinduism has the oldest recorded roots, which lie in Dravidianism. Dravidianism is estimated to have been practiced around 6,000 to 3,000 BCE and as such predates the Sumerian, Egyptian, and Babylonian cultures.

Hinduism was the first organized religion. Like, it was the first religion that there is actual proof of people practicing in daily life. It started somewhere between 6,000 and 4,000 BC, although nobody is exactly sure. However, all religions, like Christianity, like to pretend that theirs was first, whether it actually was or not.

Christianity. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Ever were taught the plan of salvation which was prepared for them before they entered the garden. They were taught the principals of the gospel by Heavenly Father, Elohim, and were told they would be given a Savior, Jesus Christ, who would come to redeem them and their posterity, us.

Judaism is one of, if not the first, recorded monotheistic faiths and one of the oldest religious traditions still practiced today.

If you are speaking of more mainstream religions Judaism is the first religion. Christians started with Christ. The first church was apostolic and catholic (catholic meaning universal not todays Catholic church) and it was Orthodoxy. Catholics are a branch off from Orthodoxy.
