I’m a non-believer. I have never asked God to appear, nor do I have any expectations that it will happen. I don’t worry about those kinds of things. It is the same mentality I have about the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus making an appearance. All wishful thinking, but hey, whatever gets you through your life. I don’t believe in Satan either. I believe that people are controlled by their basic instincts and survival mode. You are taught to be good or bad by others. Life is as simple as that.

I accept that I am a random life form, and will die and go into the earth, and that will be it. The believers seem more intent on God appearing. They are the ones who are always talking of Armageddon and Judgment Day by believers. They are constantly frustrated that God doesn’t appear to prove them right. I understand the need to believe in eternal life and something that is controlling our fate. If that makes believers happy, then go for it. I am perfectly content to live my life and not worry too much about fantasies. Your question baffles me. Why would any intelligent person not question God and his existence? If a man came up to me and told me he was 793 years old would I believe him? Of course I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t want proof, I would just dismiss it out of hand.

I view the world as a cesspool of evil, with the odd sprinkling of good. The world seems to be quite the opposite of “God’s plan”. There are pedophiles, rapists, murderers, and overall evil people walking this earth with very little to stop them. There are massive wars and battles, a lot of them caused by religious beliefs. Is that what God wants?

If there was a God, he sure isn’t doing much about anything. I constantly hear believers droning on and on about choice and free will. Blah, blah, blah. That makes no sense. A young child dies because an evil pedophile kills him or her. People say that the pedophile did this because his free will is controlled by Satan. What about God standing up for the innocent child? Where is the child’s free will? It is God’s way. That is what they will say. I don’t need proof, or for God to appear. It’s simply not going to happen if there is no God. That is why believers are so frustrated. Because they know I’m right.

I don't demand god reveal himself....I don't believe in god. I don't believe there is anything to reveal. That would be like me going to the north pole and demanding Santa clause show himself. It's just silly.

Non-believers demand that God reveals Himself b/c they have no faith. Therefore they cannot imagine putting stock in something they have never seen, touched, smelled, soforth. But as Christians we are to put our trust in Him, That one day when we get to Heaven we will be able to see, touch, and hear Him. Also by having faith we know that He is ever present in our lives eventhough we can't see Him. For Example, take time we cannot see it pass, hear it, or even touch it but we know it is there and it is ever present. I hope this has helped.

They "the non-believers" feel that seeing is believing. This is the misunderstanding of faith. Since true faith in anything is believing what you can not see and not seeing keeps "Non-believers" from believing a dicotomy exists. Its like the folks from Missouri. Show me and I'll believe it. Therein lies the problem. The religious "agenda" is to preach that God exists to people who may or may not believe looses a lot of impact when they can't prove visually what they are preaching.

You know. Everyone has their different ways of learning. Some people learn better by listening and others learn better by writing things out and still others have to see something. I think non-believers have a right to want to see something to believe in it. Look at the apostle Thomas in the book of John in the bible. He doubted that Jesus was resurrected and wanted to see Jesus's crucified marks for himself. Jesus took the time to go to him and allowed Thomas to touch his body to be sure it really was Jesus resurrected! God takes the time to meet everyone's needs and to give everyone a chance to get to know him in whatever way they need to get it from. The question is though, are they willing to accept the truth when they come face to face with it?

RUDD, I do agree it seems like religion is the cause of many of today's problems. Face it, more people have been killed in the name of "religion" than anything else. However, there is a difference in religion and spirituality. Killing in the name of religion is just another way to try and justify your own agenda. And a stupid statement!

Perhaps "spiritual" is a better word. I heard it put this way: a spiritual person is one who has put their will on a higher plane". It puts one's mind in a different place.

Because the sense that we relate the most to is sight, so therefore, we would like to see God in order to believe that He exists. The key to see Him not physically, but emotionally and spiritually moving.

If there were a god it would be an evil spirit considering how much murder, rape and torture it is responsible for.

Are you secretly in love with Jim? I bet you are.

It would give proof. I'll admit I would like to see him in one form or another in such a way there is indisputable proof of his existence.
