i live in southern california and we have the worst air quality in usa. yet, you also see the largest vehicles on the road (that means lots of pollution). what gives? these poor kids that grow up in this ozone... and their parents sometimes are drivining hummers and suburbans.... i don't get it.

To most people global warming is far in the future, hard to understand, seems not to be universally believed anyway, and they just want that car. They want the power, room, size, safety, whatever. If gas gets expensive enough, they will see an immediate negative personal impact. Then they will change their minds.

It's the same as shopping at Wal-Mart - they get 90% of their product from China who has unfiltered factory emissions that pollute and destroy the ozone layer everyday. I never buy anything from China. I don't have an SUV. We can all play a part.....

People, especially here in the US, are very willing to look outward for the sources of problems, but not inward. To most people here, the environment is something to be protected and people who mess it up should be punished. Problem is, these people think the environment is SOMEWHERE ELSE! Well, duh!
To affect these folks, we will likely need $5 a gallon prices before they think about this issue.

We care about the endangered environment, but not our oil-crazed president because he doesn't give a rat's behind about it! As for trucks and SUV's, don't bring that up with the homeland security folks; they have nothing to do with this!

most of America including the president dont seem to give a sh*t about global warming and since the worst pollution in the world comes from USA i think its about time you lot sort it out!

Sometimes people need larger vehicles. And sometimes those larger vehciles are cleaner burning then a smaller car. Mostly it's just ego.
