I am desperately searching for some kind of poem or verse to say or write to my son on his wedding day. The kind like , how I am proud of him for the man he has become and to wish him luck etc on his wedding and his new life. Anyone know where I can get any poetry/verses like this? Please! only serious replys. The wedding is in 8 days. links would help greatly and could be worth 10 points to the person who helps the most. Thanks.

For all of you who have suggested to search the internet, I have done that and have not come up with anything for a mother to a son that I thought was what I was trying to say, they were more about mother to son going off to war, or mother to son who has passed away etc... so please don't suggest to search the web, I have already done that. I need sites with mother to son on his wedding day poems, or poems themselves. Thanks.

Search the net, there are tons of poetry sites out there. If you're looking for a particular poet, I'd browse through Yeats. Although it's hardly appropriate for your purposes, his beautiful "When You are Old" will give you a taste of his prose style.

Poems About Sons

I hope you enjoy these poems

I always knew this day would come
You'd begin your life more than just my son
You'd be a husband and maybe a father too;
Son I am so proud of you,
I wish you luck on this wonderful day,
It is all for you,
Your wedding day.
I always knew this day would come
But don't you ever forget you are still my son!!
BY sarah Bradbury
Here is another one if you don't like the first

To my son on his wedding day--
I still recall when you where small--
with mischeif in your eye's--
your sweetest hugs,--
the way you teased'--
and asked a thousand why's--
I picture yet those precious gifts---
your little hands would bring--
the cards that showed your tender love--
and happiness you would bring--
but little boys grow in to men--
and vows will be said--
those treasures you brought to me--
I pray you'll give your wife--
may your marriage be the best--
a union blessed for life.

Hope this helps!

I still recall when you were small
With mischief in your eyes --
Your sweetest hugs, the way you teased
And asked a thousand why's.
I picture yet those precious gifts
Your little hands would bring --
The cards that showed your tender love
And flowers you picked in spring.

You liked your toys much more than girls
And thought you'd never wed.
But little boys grow into men,
And vows will now be said.

Those treasures you once brought to me,
I pray you'll give your wife.
And may your marriage be the best,
A union blessed for life.

Just type wedding poems into google. You will find heaps. I love this one: On Your Wedding Day Today is the day you will always remember the greatest in anyone's life. You'll start off the day just two people in love and end it as Husband and Wife It's a brand-new beginning, the start of a journey, with moments to cherish and treasure and although there'll be times when you both disagree these will surely be outweighed by pleasure You'll have heard many words of advice in the past when the secrets of mariage were spoken, but you know that the answers lie hidden inside where the bond of true love lives unbroken. So live happy forever as lovers and friends it's the dawn of a new life for you, as you stand there together with love in your eyes from the moment you whisper " I Do" And, with luck, all your hopes and your dreams can be real may success find its way to your hearts, tommorow can bring you the greatest of joys but today is the day it all starts. Anon. Or there is this one: A Parents Prayer On Your Wedding Day May your day be filled with happiness, And the sun shine on your life; May joy and laughter be with you, As you become husband and wife. May the angels sing with joy for you, On this your wedding day; A song of celebration, That will follow you on life's way. We pray that God will bless you, No matter where you go; That love and laughter and children, Will fill your happy home. Our hearts are filled with love and pride, As we watch you standing there; We wish you the joy you've given us, This is your parent's prayer. ...Allison Chambers Coxsey Good Luck!

Son, you make a mama proud,
You've turned into a wonderful man,
You'd always stand out in a crowd,
I'm your biggest fan.

To your new wife,
I wish happiness and love,
A life with little strife,
Just please keep your eyes on the one above.

I won't be an overbearing presence in your lives, (that should get you a chuckle)
But I am here when you need me, (followed by a tear)
I am confident your love will survive,
And life will be just what you want it to be.

For my birthday party, all the girls had a poem, some were funny, some almost tear jerkers, the one that stood out most made me cry, it was the one from a long time friend, who told me she remembered the first time we met, and what I have meant in her life...everyone was quiet, and crying, it was so moving, it almost broke the party down, until one of them said.." Are we at her wake" we started to laugh more and things became so much more meaningful You could start by telling him how you felt when you first saw his tiny little wrinkled face, then how he scared you, into becoming a good mother, now that he is flying away, you know you raised a good son, and happy knowing the kind of young man he turned out to be.
