Your boyfriend needs antibiotics. Burns become infected very easily. If he will not go to the hospital clean the affected area with sterile saline from the drugstore Buy lots of large gauze pads 4x4 and buy gauze wrap and tape. After you clean the burn apply antibiotic ointment apply the gauze pads or tefla (non stick) pads. the gauze sticks but helps to remove dead skin.

That sounds horrible. Put it in a bucket of ice water for a long time. Get some neosporine on it and keep it clean. Bandage it to keep germs out while it heals. It's gonna scar, or worse, if he doesn't go to the hospital.

you do NOT put ice water on a third degree burn!! NEVER NEVER NEVER! you use a CLEAN cool wet cloth and put it over the burn and get that person to medical help immediately. the biggest fear if he does not go to the hospital is that the burn will get infected and he will turn septic and die. That would be my biggest concern anyhow. If he is saying he won't go call 911, they will at least get someone out there to assess his injury and poss ably convince him to go to the hospital.

He must go to the ER as soon as possible. A bad infection from the burns can render his hands useless at a later date. Pls go to the ER now !

Get his $hit to a hospital, then have him see a psychologist.
If my hand is burnt black, I sure as hell won't pull some macho "I don't need no doctor" garbage, I like the use of my hands.

Hand burns are about the most serious we see, and may require the attention of a plastic surgeon. If he does not go, he may wind up unable to use the hand or dead.

put him in the car tell him that ur going somewhere and actually go to the hospital

Seriously, call for help if it's that bad.
In the meantime, aloe is good for burns and he may want to take some painkillers.
