Judging from the responses, I like to provide you with an educated one for a change. Traditional Judaism firmly believes that death is not the end of human existence. However, because Judaism is primarily focused on life here and now rather than on the afterlife, Judaism does not have much dogma about the afterlife, and leaves a great deal of room for personal opinion. It is possible for an Orthodox Jew to believe that the souls of the righteous dead go to a place similar to the Christian heaven, or that they are reincarnated through many lifetimes, or that they simply wait until the coming of the messiah, when they will be resurrected. Likewise, Orthodox Jews can believe that the souls of the wicked are tormented by demons of their own creation, or that wicked souls are simply destroyed at death, ceasing to exist.
I hope this is helpful.

Well, once I had a talk with a rabbi and got the following concepts about Judaism:
1.- Humans and the world are inherently good (christians believe we are wicked by nature)
2.- People will be resurrected after the messiah comes, he never mentioned "hell".
3.- People are judged by their action first, faith second, so, morality is important (in christianity, faith is first and actions second). Jews focus is "right here, right now", a very pragmatic belif, if you ask me.
4.- The concept of god is basically the same of that in christianity, except they don't believe in trinity and you pray directly to god.
5.- The "afterlife" is open to interpretations, they believe in after life, but they have no details of "heaven" or "hell". Some believe some go directly to a "garden of eden", which can be interpreted as "heaven" and those who sinned go to a purification place, something like "hell", the difference with christianity being is that, after purification (that may not last over a year), you go to heaven. There is no eternal punishment, that's something the original christian church made up. A loving god who punish eternally for the sins made in a finite life is a really silly idea, I mean, that's like saying Hitler was all about love and peace.
That's what I know about it, I might be wrong though, I ain't jewish.

Jews an Christians are based on the same religion up to the point Jesus Christ came along. Jews worship and believe in the same God Christians do and have always believed a savior will come and solve the problem of sin. However they do not believe that savior was Jesus, so they are still waiting for that savior, until that savior comes they do believe we are "dead" and cut off from a direct relationship with God because of sin.
In response to maxlebo93 a search for heaven in the old testement retunred 179 hits, not to mention the very first veres of the bible "In the begining God greated the heavens and the Earth"

Jews do not believe anyone is going to hell. We don't really think much about heaven or hell as a matter of fact. One of the beautiful things in Judaism is that we focus on our lives right now and what we can do to make the world a better place. I don't know who is giving you your information, but I suggest you find a rabbi in your area to study with. Most reform congregations offer regular classes to people who are interested in learning ore about Judaism. These are not conversion classes, though they are often a prereq for conversion. Courses like these are also available online. A good websites to check out to answer your questions is www.jewfaq.org. This site was very helpful to me while I was learning me about this religion.

If I were to believe in that crap stuff that would be the way, I would scare everyone. Christians believe that If you believe you will be saved, than you will be saved. You can be as bad as you want. Hindus get reincarnatd, but you can;t remember past lives, so why bother. Muslims get to live with Alla as long as they are Muslim. So Jews got it right If in fact what you say is true.

The Christian hell is a place of eternal torment, just for the hell of it (you should pardon my pun).
Just burning and screaming and suffering forever and ever, for all eternity, with no hope at all for redemption - that's the Christian idea of what 'God' is about. And it's a clearly stupid and archaic concept to anyone who is brave enough to think for himself. The idea of hell is an insult to 'God', because in actuality it supposes 'God' to be heinously unjust and sadistic.
Punishment is supposed to TEACH something. It is a law of cause and effect. You do 'this', and 'that' happens, so you learn not to do 'this'. From a Reincarnationist point of view, all "bad" karma or punishment is a positive and constructive thing, because it's a way of enlightening you; it teaches you something. This is the 'God' that makes sense: one who lets us learn through natural consequences of our actions.
Anyone who believes in eternal damnation sees 'God' as a tyrant.

most people go to hell for some time, your right about that. That dose not mean you have to.
G-d gave us a wonderfull tool called repentance. If you truly repent and try to fix your mistakes then you wont have to go though hell at all or at least it will be much less than before.
