I love questions like this because there is no one answer. Since you are speaking in terms of "sin", the question seems to be one based on Christian theology. (Admittedly, other religions acknowledge sin and sin-like concepts, but this still seems the most likely intent of the question.) It depends on who you ask. Conservative Christians (and many othodox Muslims and Jews) would likely tell you that any sex outside of marriage constitutes fornication and is, therefore, a sin. This view is also likely to believe that sexual relations are only (or at least primarilly) for reproduction.

However, this doesn't seem to mesh seamlessly with Biblical teachings (I am not educated enough on the Q'ran to even speculate there!). The Old Testament repeatedly condemns adultery. This certainly includes any sexual relations by a married individual with anyone other than the spouse. But some expand that to include *any* sexual relationship outside of marriage. Unfortunately, their is no clear definition provided in any of the texts. However, they do repeatedly condemn promiscuity. Whether that is a "sin" or just good practical advice is up to the individual. (To those who believe it is strictly a sin, presumably so is eating shellfish and the like, as that is explicitly prohibited!)

The New Testament also condemns uncontrolled lust, but again it is hard to be exact. Certainly, some behaviors are clearly prohibited. But others are less clear. Paul, for example, seems to discourage any sexual desire and get married if you must engage in it. In Mattthew, Jesus warns against even lustful thoughts! However, he also takes a prostitute as one of his closest followers, showing that perhaps intent is the major factor.

Like all questions of faith, it comes down to individual belief. I would strongly encourage people to carefully read their holy texts and study the history of their faith to get a broader understanding of what they truly believe.

It depends on your religious and moral values. If you were brought up in the belief that premarital sex is a sin, then it is a sin for you. Never go against your principles and you will be happy. My guess is that if you ask, it is because you already know the answer...

The bible places commitment at a very high level. Being Promiscuous is sinful. Wait until you are ready for a deep commitment and let sex be a natural extension of the level of love and commitment you have for your partner. The Greek definition of fornication (which the new testament was written in), is harlotry. So to avoid "sleeping around" or having multiple partner, keep your precious gift until you find a partner and both of you are ready to be monogamous. Marriage is God's ideal. See how committed he is to us? That's how committed he wants us to be for our spouses.

If you are a christian, I'm sure you already know the answer to that...YES. The consequences might be negative. Its better to have a peace of mind than a piece of action that might ruin it all.

yep. The bible warns about premarital sex. It's wrong and I would suggest you don't as it comes with alot of baggage. (I had given my virginity to someone I though was in love with me and he walked afterwards). so the only consequence may not just be STDs but alot major of emotional hastle. Don't do it.

depends on your morals and values and what you believe. I don't see anything wrong with it if you're both consenting adults and care about each other. I woudln't recommend sleeping around though
