>> Immediately after Christ's crucifixion, all Apostles ran for dear life, (Because; if other Jews were to report them to the Romans, they would be immediately executed)
10 Apostles were given shelter and protection by Arabs Chiefs north of Syria and north of Iraq where one of the oldest Monasteries still exist (Wadi Ed-Daire).
2 Apostils fled to Sinai where they were also sheltered By Arab chieftains, there stands today St. Catherine’s Church which was built for them.
_ - -During their stay they told their plight and what they remembered of the holy teachings to their hosts.
- - -After some years many wrote what they remembered of theteachings and stories they herd from the Apostles.
- - - The main languages used were Aramaic and Hebrew - - -
_- - Jewish-Roman persecution of Christians continued for about 370 years... suddenly there was a complete change of heart by the pagan Roman Emperor who decided to become head of the Christian faith and stop persecuting Christians...
...This is how Christianity emerged, by this time about 850+ Bibles were written..... The Emperor ordered that only 4 be approved. And so we have today's translations of the 4 chosen books.
===== this brings us to th end of the fourth century; so Middle-East religions of that time were:
1- Sabites
2- Jews
3 - Pagans
..There was no Islam yet.
....Other parts of the world (East Asia and Africa) already had
1 -Hindu
2- Tao
3 - Buddhist
4 - And of course there was a huge number of local community religions
... I hope I have been of help to you.

It depends: Do you mean the old testament, new testament, the modern bible(King James Version), what?
Old Testament: Well let's see through much of the old testament we have Egypt playing a significant role, Persia, Assyria, Babylon, ...so I would guess that their various polytheistic religions would have been present.
New testament: Some of the same ones as old testament, plus the Roman/Greek Pantheons. Since the Romans co opted many of the conquered peoples gods as well, so many many more also.
KJV: By then Christians were the predominant religion of the area, although the Pagan religions were still practiced in small locations with extremely limited numbers of people. Other than that there was still the conflicts within the Christian Church, between the Protestants and the Catholics, and honestly between branches of the Protestants.

Depends on the geographic location... and what part of the bible you are talking about.
When the moses stories began, there was the egyptian, sumerian. By the time King David was around there were MANY other religions, including the persian, greek, and a variety of pagan religions.
By the time Jesus was around, the roman religion had taken hold in the known world.
When Rome converted to christianity, they then changed their very open view that each culture could worship however they wanted and forced christianity on the known world... at sword point.

Pagan religions & Judiasm. The Quran is written after the bible and has a lot of things from the bible in it, Ghandi went off of Jesus, and Siddartha was enlightened after the bible as well etc. etc. Much copy cats going on I'd say.

Hinduism exsisted thousands of years before that, it is said to be the oldest religion in the world. Despite others labeling it as pagan and idol worship, its about and always been about ONE GOD viewed in various forms for the purpose of focus.
