I honestly think that it is too late for that. Our society is coming close to reaching it's apex and then it's all downhill from there. Look at the Romans.... it's a perfect example of how we have NOT learned from our past and have gotten swept up in decadence, shallowness and sin. The only hope that this country has lies within each individual. Have a personal relationship with God and encourage others to find their own truths. We all don't have to believe in the same God - but we do need to have a strong moral base and that's what should be strssed.

I saw on the news that a 29 foot cross was created as a memorial to the Korean war vets over 40 years ago, and an athiest filed suit to have it removed because it "offended" him. Yep, they're offended by a simple cross. I fail to understand how someone can be offended by the faith of others? Are they that insecure or are they truly afraid of the cross? Does it not matter to them that the people who died in Korea had family and that memorial meant something to them? No, it doesn't matter, cause that poor little athiest was offended.
Well, that's why this country will never turn back to God, because 1 single person can destroy so much out of fear. If one of them is "offended" by a cross, down it comes. If 10,000 christians are offended by something, it doesn't matter.

Start a holy war!!...just kidding. Its not up to us to try bring this country back to god. Leave that to god. All you have to do is live your life the way god has told you to. Show the way with your words and especially with your actions. That way people will see the truth in you and maybe follow you.

The great thing about this country is it was founded on the right to choose your own religion and beliefs. If you want a country obsessed with God move to England.

Not everyone wants to be turned to God...this country was founded on freedom of religion. Let others believe what they want.

Why would you do that?
I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent.
"I consider the government of the United States as interdicted by the Constitution from intermeddling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises. This results not only from the provision that no law shall be made respecting the establishment or free exercise of religion, but from that also which reserves to the states the powers not delegated to the United States. Certainly, no power to prescribe any religious exercise or to assume authority in religious discipline has been delegated to the General Government. It must then rest with the states, as far as it can be in any human authority." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Miller, 1808. ME 11:428
"In matters of religion, I have considered that its free exercise is placed by the Constitution independent of the powers of the general government. I have therefore undertaken on no occasion to prescribe the religious exercises suited to it; but have left them as the Constitution found them, under the direction and discipline of State or Church authorities acknowledged by the several religious societies." --Thomas Jefferson: 2nd Inaugural Address, 1805. ME 3:378
-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Francis Hopkinson, March 13, 1789

Which god?
We have NEVER been a religion based society, unless you want to refer to the holy church of capitalism. We left England because of religious persecution, remember?
Let's instead try to turn the country to accepting moral obligations and a bit more tolerance of all humanity. I think that's a better idea.

More people will turn to God if the God shared with others is one of peace, forgiveness, wisdom, and compassion.
People will continue to turn away from RELIGION (but not necessarily God) if the God presented is one of judgment, anger, exclusivity, and narrow-mindedness.

It will be tough. The devil is having his way with the people not tied in to God and they don't know it. I wonder who they think make them make the bad decisions they make. The whole time they're doing the foolishness the devil is laughing at them. To answer your question it's going to take christians getting out there and sharing the gospel.
