The engineer in my office is such a prick! A few weeks ago, he made a very blatant pass at me, and I turned him down and spoke w/ my boss about it, who in turn disiplined him for his harassment. Nothing big really, just a slap on the wrist and a "keep your hands to yourself" So, I get to work this morning to be called into my boss's office where he proceeds to totally chew me out about my "unbusinesslike conduct" with another co-worker. (Yes, I am dating another co-worker, but it has NEVER come to work. We keep it totally under wraps, as in no one knows) Saying that what I had done was inappropriate, and he couldn't believe I would ever do such a thing, blah blah friggin blah" When I asked my boss what I had done that was so inappropriate, he told me that I should know, and in addition be ashamed of myself. The thing is though, I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. I think this guy made up a story about me and fed it to my boss. Do I say something to him, or just take the as s chewing and let it ride?

Your boss should be made aware that you think the co-worker is retaliating. If he's any good he should be aware of that consequence. Sexual-harrassment is serious and should not be ignored. You are still be harassed. Write everything down in a dated journal and just keep a record in case this goes further. Just because you are dating a co-worker doesn't mean you can't be harassed

Ask the person you're dating first if they said something to your boss first. If they didn't; bring them into the office with your boss to end the matter right away. Secondly have your boss come clean as to who past on this disinformation. In addition; shame on your boss for jumping to conclusions without getting all the facts. That is a no-brainer! Good luck.

Well, first of all it does not make sense that your boss
would chew you out and then when you ask him what you done he said "you should know."

I mean the whole time he was chewing you out, didn't you get a hint into wtf he was talking about?

Anyways, to answer your question I wouldn't worry about it, in a few weeks, this won't matter any more, but if you keep pressing the situation, then it could cause more of a ripple effect and then really start some drama.

So a) You should not feel guilty! b) If you aproach this guy its only going to make things worse! If you let it be hes going to think the boss did not say any thing to you also, he doing it to get a rise out of you! You want to piss this guy off! Dont say anything to him! That will piss him off! Hope this helps and enjoy your day! Rember its Friday!!!

I would go to Human Resources and file a formal complaint. Keep your emoitons undercheck and state only the facts of what has happened. Good Luck. It is totally unfair.

Its a bad idea to date a co-worker. If it doesn't work out and you still need to work together, it could be awkward. And, when your other co-workers learn about it, you get diminished in their eyes professionally. Its unfair - but that's the way people are.

I would let it ride. Unless they have any proof of you doing something, they really can't do anything. I would just go into work and keep to myself, not talk to anyone, even if they are my friend. I never trust anyone from work, you never know if someone wants your job.

go to the labour board about harassment. Just call them and see what they say. Explain the pass and slap on the wrist he got, then tell him about the lies.
good luck!

Let it ride for awhile .. laugh and be yourself. That'll make him pissed.

If that continues, you should talk with human resources or employment equal opporunity where people shouldn't harass people no matter how it is. Glancing is harassing if you think it is.
