if your an athiest, what are your intentions in Religion & Spirituality? If you believe there is no God, then my life is not worse by believing in him. So, what is the cause you are fighting for. You want the choice to believe what you will, but don't want to give that same right to any one else. So, what is your cause?

Being a atheist I have no cause. I only ask people of faith to keep their faith at home and out of government policies. My main issue with religian is it makes some people (not all) crazy. So please practice common sense along with your faith and we will be just fine.

No cause. Discussion is good. I do give the right to believe in a god. I never said that you should not. I just state that I do not believe. I do not try to change any ones mind about their faith.
It just seems that when an atheist answers a question, there has to be an underlying reason. Like asking what our cause is. Some may have an agenda, but not the majority of us.

1. Learn to spell. The word is atheist.
2. Don't you bother to search and see if this question has been asked before? Oh, that's right, you're a theist; fact checking and accuracy are anathema to theism.
3. Here is the same thing I have posted four days in a row because people like yourself repeat the same question over and over again:
---------------------
I post here and elsewhere to debunk the three lies that religious people continue to repeat.
1. "Only are moral."
Being part of a religion makes one moral? Bu**sh**. If being christian makes someone moral, then explain the KKK and Nazi Germany. If being jewish makes one moral, then explain Israeli terrorism. If being a muslim makes one moral, then explain the Taliban and Osama bin Laden.
Don't respond with another lie: "But they aren't christians/jews/muslims!" If someone calls himself a christian/jew/muslim, he is, no matter what you say. You will never hear an atheist say "Stalin wasn't a true atheist!"
2. "My religion has a right to teach others."
Oh yeah? If the religious can spew their bile, then I can display fresh facts. Only a hypocrite - or specifically, a hypochristian - doesn't want all people and views to have the same right.
3. "My religion is original, sent down from 'god'/'allah'/'zoroaster'/'Bob the Angry Flower'!"
There is no such thing as an "original religion" in the last 2000 years except for $cientology, and that cult is nothing but a load of crap. All religions are nothing but regurgitations and retellings of previously existing religions, and I've got the evidence to back it up.
The notion that one particular religion is somehow "special" or "true" is a laughable concept. There's nothing new under the "son".
Anyone who has a problem with me or others exposing lies probably is one of the liars.

If you are an athiest, you do not believe in religion and spirituality. The more I see the situation of politics and religion in the
world, the more I tend to believe there is no GOD.
Man is fearless, and carries on with cheating, lying, murder,
rape, stealing and treachery and think that others are blind.
So if after knowledge is within you, and you still carry on,
there cannot be GOD. It would be insulting GOD. So
better to put GOD on ignore.

Look at the history. Open the school book at least and see what christiniaty did to the world. Just because you personaly don't autorise cruasaids, or did not torture ppl from different belives it does not mean everything is cool. Christianity did so much damamge to the world and even now when they try to hdie their agenda we still see the results.
If you so much into the bible then you support female descrimination, slavery, against education , non tolerance to others. DO you still want those things to be part of every1 life? Thank you not me. So if i have a choice to present my case i will.
By any chance do you know who find empty tomb of Jesus when he was resurected?
Peace.

My intentions are to have an intelligent discussion. I have no cause. I am not fighting for anything. I am educated in religion and I like to discuss it. Just because I don't believe the way you do does not mean I can't talk about what you believe. You can believe whatever you want, it doesn't bother me.

atheist don't have to fight because our understanding of the world will not be shattered by one tragedy or calamity. prayer is desperation symbolized. It goes to show incompetence/lack of confidence. Take responsibility for your actions. Do not hurt other human beings and then simply ask forgiveness to "god"(who is actually a concept in your head). It is easy to forgive yourself and judge others but if you're to prove to others that you're still a good human being you need more than "god" as an excuse.

"You want the choice to believe what you will, but don't want to give that same right to any one else."
Just what exactly does that mean? Or does it have any meaning whatsoever?
I recommend a tape recorder. You can record yourself speaking and then play it back again and again as you appear to love the sound of your own voice.
Do me a favour and look at the 'similar questions'. This has been asked 100 times. Or click on this link to see the crap that _we_ have to put up with...

Just like religious people Atheists that spend their time fighting the religious views of others do it for their own benefit, not yours.
Religious people go around 'spreading the word' to anybody that will hear them, they do this because constantly repeating their believes out loud to others re-enforce them on themselves, plus if it works they get a new convert. The same applies to new atheists, they are still governed by their belief in the supernatural, however they realize it makes no sense but they have to convince themselves of this, and so, they use constant repetition, repeating it out loud time and again eventually makes it sink and they become convinced of their own beliefs. New atheists need religious people as much as religious people need other people.
Once this atheist has become convinced of his/her beliefs the need to fight the religious views of others disappears and you no longer see him/her in such discussions.

Atheists do not have a 'cause' or a mission in regards to religion. It is the religious fanatics that have the 'cause'. Atheists go along day by day leaving others along while the religious zealots are out there trying to push their beliefs onto everyone else.
To some it may be hard to understand why we do not believe in fairy tales, but so be it. It is not our place to push that onto others, unfortunately, those who do believe in fairy tales think that it is their mission in life to 'convert us'.
