The lovely wooden toys from Pintoy are great for 2 year olds like the wooden drum or xylophone. Nice and safe and beautifully designed. Have a look at the Tish Tash Toys website for lots of the Pintoy range and more. They also also offer you a 10% discount off your first order if you email to say where you heard about site/discount etc. Free toy with every order too!

Try Discovery Toys: go to the website under sources, click products--our products, and when the page comes up there are toys and books ages early years at the top of each list. (You can click anywhere on the sources to jump ahead--the third hyperlink will take you directly to 'Birth to Three Years' page). There are several cute toys to look at.
Definitely blocks, stuffed animals, and those little hammer things where you hit the ball and it goes down the slot. Also, some Jack-in-the-Boxes are really cute.

Is this for a boy or a girl or both? I have 3 boys so I know more about boy stuff and gender neutral stuff.
Girls - dolls, stuffed animals, dress up clothes
Boys - Rescue Heroes (the pieces aren't small), Super Friends Chunky Action figures, Little Tikes fake tool sets
Both - chunky blocks, picture books and touch and feel books, coloring books (the crayola kind that has the invisible ink), play dough, little people sets, peek a blocks, kitchen items (both boys and girls like to pretend to cook)
I hope this helps

Plastic stacking cups, blocks, balls - there are some Leap Frog toys that are for 2 year olds - my daughter had one with the alphabet as buttons and when she pressed buttons, depending on the mode she had it on, it played music, gave the letter of the alphabet, gave words that started with that letter and stuff like that. It was a great toy.

Go to the toy store and look for toys for 2 year olds. My son loves the little tykes bikes, blocks, little basketballs, soccer balls....there are billions upon billions of toys and activities you can get for your toddler. But only you will know the right toys for him/her since all kids are different and learn at different levels.

My 2 year old loves megablocks, although keeping the floor clean is a problem. Another of her favorite toys is a small stroller for her to push her "baby" around in. (baby is a pink polkadot teddy bear)

Duplo blocks are great (they're like chunky legos). My two year old daughter loves, purses, hats, shoes, balls and pull toys the best.
