Most times they will charge you a fee. Salons especially...it shouldn't be more than $40 though.

Some doctors might charge a fee for cancellation, and typically they put this in the terms and conditions when they accept you as a patient.
Other doctors, depending on the relationship you have with them, ignore it and reschedule.
Doctor's understand that things DO arise... but this is their job. They won't take it personally, and I would doubt they'd NOT reschedule, because... hey... if they ding your for it AND reschedule... they get paid twice for the same job!

in the salon where i work we ask would you like to reschedule if you choose not no problem . now with doctors i have heard that they sometimes willcharge a fee for canceling

they will charge you a cancellation fee, probably about 1/2 of what the bill would have been.

depends on why.... if it is a valid reason and you give enough notice most will be understanding but don't expect them to forgive the fee. it is money lost for them..
