A man wrote a book and told people it was real. They believed him. Not that hard to figure out. Like way way back when the 1st War of the World's movie came out, and they broadcasted it on TV like a news reel, and people thought that aliens were taking over the planet...

The original bible was commissioned by the Pope in the first century. He needed a way to keep the people in line. The parables in the bible were the first "laws" of a lawless land. Many were told that if they did not believe and hold to these "canons" that they will rot in Hell. Torquemada even went so far as to torture anyone who may not have been Catholic. Once again this is the churches' insistence that any discussion about the absolute authority of the bible is punishable by torture and death. Why would the Catholic Church do this if they had abosolute faith in the bible? The bible is a good book to live your life by. Wouldn't it be nice if everybody on the planet got along with each other? On last thing, religion (all religions across the globe) is the number one cause of bloodshed in the history of this planet, from the crusades, to the Huns, the Roman Empire, Alexander the Great, Hindus v. Chinese, Islamic Jihad, to the wars currently being waged today. No religion is immune to saying (and proving with might) that their religion is the best. Think about it.

Your ignorance and naivety of the historical reliability of the Bible and a knowledge of what it teaches is blatantly obvious. You are an embarrassment to all who at least have some cursory knowledge of issues to which they speak! Perhaps you have some talent or interest in which you are a bit skilled or conversant and indeed that is where you should remain so as not to become the laughing stock of all who read your ridiculous rantings. It is a sad thing to have to have to observe such a spectacle but we do feel sorry for you, our pity is great. Indeed it is not too late to run, run for the covering of a giant rock in a lonely field where you can see the contempt of your readers no longer. Perhaps you can free yourself of your foolishness in your own mind as you hide in the dark like a sand lizard. "If I no longer see them and their written responses I am not a fool", you may say to yourself. But alas what good can hiding do you? Can a leopard hide from its spots? A bird from its feathers? Seek and maybe you can find wisdom and knowledge merciful and gracious enough to take the time to try and teach you, as unteachable as you may be.

Think again, there were numerous myths coming out of the Bronze age, and thousands of myths both before and after. Why is the biblical myth so pervasive? It answers a number of problems that other myths were not able to tackle.

The Old Testament is a book about faith, not about history. Most things in the Old Testament are just stories to show us a point.
However, the New Testament, is the inspired word of God.
