yes, i know it sounds kooky! even i think it sounds strange. there was somebody on tv that related love as a mental disorder but... only as a joke. i took it lightly at first considering it was just for laughs. however, afterwards, i tried to make sense out of it. love does make you do crazy things. things that you won't normally do. you can completely forget, start to care less, about your surroundings and think only of that special someone. things that usually annoy you doesn't seem to bother you anymore since you're in love. also, your behaviour/personality starts to change a little. what else? hmm... some people can go beserk if they don't see their lover for quite some time. the distance can make them go a little insane. =)
what do you think?
p.s: don't get me wrong, though. i'm not putting down love or anything! i've been in love. i'm (sort of) still in love. it changed me a little.

LOL...i think that depends on how much you love! If you're stalking someone, yeah...LOVE then becomes a mental problem! but on a more serious note, i could see the point that love could potentially be the cause of a mental disorder. love is something that we can not survive without. we become lonely if not loved, we become sad when love doesnt work out. it's our coping mechanisms that either enable us to recover from love or develop mental problems. :-)

I have to say this is a great question. The observation that you made about love, I have to agree with. I think that Love being a mental disorder could be true to an extent. When some people are in Love they just to things that normally wouldn't do. I have seen people do drugs to be with someone that they love or other crazy things. But when a person becomes in love it is like a partnership and people change also, I feel that it depends on how the person pertrays love in their mind in the first place.

Ya know, I never looked at it like that. Girl, you are right. ANd to the guy that said "life will change when you get older," not true. That is how it is period. Well, a woman loving a man but maybe not a man loving a woman. It is so different. I wish I could love like a man. Then nothing would matter.

Oh yes, love can be a mental disorder. One case in point is John W. Hinkley, Jr. This is the guy that tried to assonant President Regan. Admittedly, he had other mental issues that contributed greatly to his behavior. Read his Bio at the link below.

No... Love is not a mental disorder... Love is sometimes confused with lust and there are different forms of Love... eros is romantic love that a man has for a woman, and there is agape love that God has for man... There is no fear in perfect love... Love is a good thing... because Love is what God is!!!

Love as humans experience it, that beginning "insaness", that's all peptides and chemical reactions in your brain. Maybe not a mental disorder as people see disorders, but your chemicals are definitely not "in order" and so I think you may be on to something!
