Acctually, if you remeber when Christ was at the well with the woman, she said something along the lines that "even the dogs have scraps from the master's table" And the dogs where the servants that were both Jew and a Pagan race, but I cant remember which one it was...He is not implying that you are a dog or a pig, you have to look deeper than what it says. Give not that which is holy, unto the dogs,(meaning-Don't desacrate what God has given to you) neither cast ye your pearls before swine, ( your pearls of wisdom before someone who may take it the wrong way)lest they trample them under their feet,(they'll take and twist your words) and turn again and rend you.( then they will take your words and hurt you with them). The Bible doesn't speak as "actual" all the time, there are a lot of metaphors. That is the way that Christ spoke. It is how he got to the people of that time. It was basically the "slang" at that time.

Actually, I believe you are doing some pretty good trampling and turning and rending of the christians on here. You belittle their beliefs and expect them to treat you with respect? Perhaps if you'd listen instead of turning it all into "this idiot believes in a man in the sky" prattle you might actually learn something and have a rational discussion. No one here wants to change that which cannot be changed and your mind is definitely under that category.
On a lighter note though, everytime I see your identity I hear that line from dan akroyd on SNL "Jim Darwin, male prostitute" (that's not what he says but the name he uses is similar. ;-)

Jesus DID say that, and no, you are NOT considered a pig or a dog. What Jesus was referring to was people who seek to destroy truth, instead of seek it (in this case, specifically Bible scholars who were going around mocking Jesus's teachings, twisting his actions, and trampling his words). What he was warning his disciples of was spending (wasting) time trying to convince people who are only interested in making arguments and undermining spirtuality. The WHOLE PURPOSE of Jesus' message was to bring the "lost" to a new hope in Him. The whole message of the message was to spread the gospel, and all of God's creations are beautiful...but when some harden their hearts and act maliciously for the sake of being malicious, it is a waste of time. Again, you are no swine. And there are a lot of confused people in here interpreting without knowing what they are speaking of. Grab a random quote from anyone taken out of it's context, and you can make a whole twisted, angry thing out of it...like you are desperately trying to do.
Oh, and God is not a "man in the sky hurling fireballs"...he is as close as your heart and LOVES you with the same desperation and passion that you show in your anger. Your are worth more than gold or silver to Him, always will be.

Jesus is making a proverbial statement, similar to the Proverbs below:
Proverbs 26:4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself. 5 Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.
Notice in the Proverbs that one must apply wisdom to decide whether it is appropriate to answer a fool or not. In Jesus' statement, he is not encouraging people to avoid talking to the unholy, and he is not contradicting his other commands (and indeed his own mission) to share 'holy things' with others. What he is saying is that Christians must take note of who we share things with, because some people only ask questions to provoke or try to trap, and they are not worthy of the 'pearls' that we have to give.
So people on Yahoo Answers who have no genuine interest in Christianity or the Truth in general really ought not to get answers from us.
As you can see, I still think that you are worth answering (for now...), and you have some good, genuine questions among those that are obviously just jokes.

Actually if you read more of the New Testament you will read that Christians really aren't supposed to talk with you at all. We are not to associate with the non-believer for what does the believer have in common with the non-believer. We are the temple of the living God. Sorry not the exact quote but I don't have my bible in front of me. I think that you are knowledgable enough to be able to find the exact quote. May not have been Jesus words BUT we are to follow the New Testament. Also it may have simply been trying to put Christ's words into more understandable context.

Think Dude, Jesus wasn't saying what you said, he was saying don't waste your time with people who aren't even making an attempt to understand the gospel. Because its an exercise in futility. Sorta like you explaining evolution to me, sure its your theory but I Don't by it, By the way the God doesn't throw fireballs at the earth, though we as a species probably deserve it.

No I think you mis-understood, I do not understand this to mean that at all. but more to as don't waste giving time with creatures that can not understand your good intent. example you would not be doing any good to give a dog a book who you know can not read and you would not give a pig gems who will only destroy the gifts. but to offer your gifts to those who can use them. I see you as a child of God just as I see myself. What you do with your time while in life is between you and god not you and I - mine is not to judge you but to accept you for who you are. God to me does not live in the clouds but in the hearts of man - he would not throw fireballs to earth nor would he ever suggest or give me permission to think of my brother as anything less than my brother.

you can't have a rational conversation with anyone who is constantly thinking about religion. That's one of the reasons they are extremely fun to talk to... they always repeat and say the same things they learn at church at the age of 8, no matter if they are 30, 40 or 80 years old.
Religion is a no brainer.

Yes, Jesus did say that.
Throwing our "pearls to swine" is when we hold the keys of life and death in front of people and they continuously reject, ridicule and berate Christians for their message.
We are to "shake the dust off our feet" and move on to someone else.
I do applause you for your understanding of scripture. You know and understand it better than some Christians do.
