Put a password on the computer that your child doesn't know. Shut the computer down before you leave. When you are gone, the password box will come up and the child won't be able to get onto the computer.

No I don't try to keep them from using it. I'm hoping they decide to leave real soon and get a job. If they find somebody that will take them in, even better. Of course, they are all in their 20's and college students. They keep boomeranging back home.

no, we have parental controls that restrict what the kids cannot see.
We also put a password into the computer to keep them from dowloading things into the computer.

password the pc,that's what i do. my kids will click on anything! we got tons of viruses. i just pas worded the computer, now they are on it when i am home. i also check the history

NO. You can teach them what you expect them to do and not to do and if they don't abide restrict them, no allowance, no sleepovers, etc. You can track where they web surf by going to the address bar and scrolling down.
