can it happen over night like it did?

Is he peeing or not peeing? I'd take him in and have his kidneys checked. This just happened to my cat and I didn't take him in soon enough and he died last month.

Hi, both Dogs and Cats can have trouble peeing if they are feed too much dry foods.
The passage forms crystals and restricts there abbility to have a free flowin pee. Feed them from tins or cook up meat and vegs but DONT feed them dry food.Dry food is ok for one perhaps 2 meals a week but not all the time.Good luck. Waltz.

Yes it can from kidney stones. Get your dog to the vet fast. There is a successful treatment.

Dogs can have bladder infections and kidney problems too. Better take him to the vet

Yes. There may have been underlying symptoms that you did not notice. You are best off to give your vet a call and see what he or she thinks of the situation. Most vets will give you general answers if you give them a call.

Bladder infection can just pop up.
Get him to the vet and started on antibitic to clear it up.
