Its just the way it is with kids. If my daughter and I are out in the yard doing yard work it never fails that my granddaughter wants to be right there with whom ever is doing the job that she really shouldn't be helping with (ie laying bricks or trimming branches from the trees). I know that even weeding the garden takes 20 times longer with the help of an almost 2 year old ... we tend to lose focus on the weeds and start looking for rocks or something a bit more important to her.
I often hear hollers from the top of the stairs when I try to escape alone to the restroom. Its normal ... and most of the time makes me smile. I know I need to hold on to this time because in about 10 years she isn't going to spend any time with us.

I understand! My daughter was like that when she was small. But you know even though it was irritating sometimes, I let her. one of these days they won't want to be around you any more and you are going to wish you had that or some of it again. In the same time I know Mommy's need there time. When Daddy is around make him play a game or something with them for a while and go to the bath and lock the door and soak in the tub. Or go to town for a little bit, if you were like me even 15 minutes of freedom was a nice relief.

Yes it annoys me when my kids do that to me every single day. Even when i go to the bathroom they follow and iIl try to kick them out. We have a joke in our house about not even being able to use the bathroom alone!!! But enjoy it because it wont last forever! You'll miss it someday!

I remember I used to have to hide in the bathroom when my kids were little and they used to follow me. But you should actually appreciate them at this point. Because then they become teenagers and don't even want you to touch them. I can't even get my daughter to watch TV with me. I asked her why and she goes, because you always want to touch me! I heard its going to be a least a couple years, maybe 4 until she will let me hug and kiss her again.... now I miss those days when she used to love to cuddle with me and always wanted me there!
Well at least I still have my little lap dog that does that same thing, he follows me EVERYWHERE even to the bathroom! lol

My daughter follows me aroung when I get home from work and I don't mind it. I'm just glad she loves me. She so cute, makes me want to squeeze her. I do have to get on to her sometimes because she does try to follow me into the bathroom.

If you go to the bathroom, lock the door. They should stop doing that by age 5 or so... hopefully.

If the kids are more than toddlers start following them around. give them a taste of their own medicine. Maybe they will get the hint.

it doesnt annoy me but when i want to be alone
i tell them mommy is taking 20 minutes out to herself and i want you to have a time out also-watch tv play a game or something then tell them that when your done you will do something with them. this also helps them to learn to be independent.

Once in a while....but, kids are kids. I generally chase them away or make them busy with something.
