Wow in all this time sharing the LOL word, i always thought it meant lots of laughs. Huh.At first i didnt like it much i thought its what everyone is using to express some smiles, but now i just take it as another word set to make computer chats easier sort of.If u hate it , it will look worse though LOL see? now love it LOL thats better huh?????

I'm afraid I use it far too much
It is easy to type, though, of course it's just as easy to type :) or :))
but they only work in Messenger. I really do laugh when I use it (or maybe grin or chuckle).
I also use 'hehe' and sometimes 'rotfl' but usually I type more or less as I would speak (except when speaking I hardly ever use the backspace key, *** << see, it's a HABIT!

Why does it get this type of reaction out of you?
its only there to save time writing it and you obviously know what it means so it is serving a purpose.
I think thay you are way to old to be using this site if you cant handle the lingo being used...sorry lingo means language,
I dont want you to have to waste more of your points putting up even more stupid questions!

because they want to express the fact that they are laughing at something said or done and when you are on the computer people can not hear you laugh unless of course you are on a web cam with a mic
